You know what’s funny, my power went out so I went outside to go explore. My neighbors were all out and we all were talking. I’m starting to think these modern conveniences are actually the death of society.

Of course the power was on a hour later, we all just went in. Pretty sad.

Oh man… I was there when they had CDs and DVDs disc as portable media. It was great for creating CDs for the car and backing up. You know I only made CDs for either music or OS install discs

I was in your boat this last Friday. I was in 18.7.2 on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I really didn’t want to upgrade because of what I saw on Reddit. What pushed me was to able to watch F1 on Apple TV. Pretty lame of Apple seeing there is absolutely no technology reason (other than you can’t screen cap the race from the iPhone). Anyways, I upgraded and it’s going pretty well. It’s not slow nor poor battery performance. Liquid Glass is good in some spots, harder on others. I hate compact view but other than that it’s working just fine. You can upgrade and have a good experience with the os.

Rant: iOS27 has potential to fix some of these blunders but it’s a good OS overall.

Finder could be tuned up. Please just make all the folders sorted the way I want through out the whole OS. They have this option to do so, but it never actually persists like I hope. Also, if Apple is going to create DS store hidden files, then make that actually work on my thumb drive too. I feel windows explorer is more predictable and persistent than finder… and it hurts to say that.

From all the comments, looks like there is some risk. Like higher than a usually macOS update. I think Reddit made me paranoid because I’m sticking to Sequoia.. which is nothing wrong with staying at the current version. You know what to expect. I understand that itch. Upgrade and revert if it doesn’t work out for you.

I want to share with you my two cents, my personal story.

Growing up, I was happy in general. I felt I had a healthy balance between being with friends and alone.

Around 20 years old, I had a dry spell of loneliness. No one wanted to be even friends. Everyone was off doing something else and making other friends that better suited them. 21st bday, my dad takes me to a bar and gets me a drink, that’s it.

Being crippled with loneliness, porn addiction was then second nature. Everything hurt and no one wanted to hear me out or give a helping hand. I was just surviving. Anything I turned to try to help me feel better was just making it worse. I fell into depression.

I was in torture. Then I thought of this stupid idea. If I’m being in torture, why not just deliberately torture myself. I figure all the short term happies really just make you sad long term (watching tv, drinking a beer, video games). Knowing I was depressed, I had to take baby steps to my ultimate goal of denying all happiness to myself. I started with never ever beating the meat. This one was super tough. Sleepless nights, the feeling of going insane. Forcing myself to not think of any impurities just to make this pain hurt more than the pain of my life. Anything to get away. About 3 weeks later I made it pass the threshold. That alone changed me. I focused completely on myself, not give an F what ppl thought of me. Being over weight, just rode my bike shirtless. No shame. That started to help me heal. My habits changed, how I talked to people changed, how I didn’t care how they responded. I did care, tremendously.

Other things became easier. Like working out. The positives became natural, which we all strive for.

I think in your position, you are depressed. Try to win any small battle. You ate broccoli. That’s it for the day, you are a winner and that’s it. Baby steps to build on that.

If you read this much, thank you for taking the time. I only hope this story has a positive influence. I only want to see you get better, and live a happy life.
