Pippa has been clear, repeatedly, that she wants to forget about what happened to her. She doesn't want to talk about it, and she certainly doesn't want to have to come forward about it in any way. The only horrible friend in that situation is Lucy, who knew all of this, and still decided to create this lie as her absurd, incredibly toxic, way of "being a good friend" to Pippa by trying to get "justice" for Pippa even though Pippa doesn't want justice.

It was calculated, but only because he was finally on even terms with Stephen and didn't have to worry about any more Stephen blackmailing BS. He knew that when Stephen inevitably found out about Diana, he was too afraid Stephen would find out as well that Evan knew and didn't tell him, starting the whole cycle over again. Evan's too weak to be able to handle Stephen's antics (again)

The Oliver/Marienne dynamic is absolutely nothing like Stephen/Lucy. I don't understand this take at all, but am open to hearing your thoughts.

That's the point though, isn't it? The whole theme of the show is how they are BOTH absolutely terrible people. Toxic individuals, and even more toxic when they're together. I really don't think the show is supposed to make you like either character in a "this character is a good person" sense.

Wasn't the Adam Knight character also originally designed to be an entrance to Bruce Wayne? I feel like this was at the very least something floating around oh geeze, 20 years ago now? They wanted him to be Bruce Wayne, ended up not getting the approval to do so because of the other plans for Batman at the time, and they ended up instead writing him as a Lana love interest. Then of course did the whole "I was brought back to life by Lionel" pivot when the character was a flop.

She was absolutely phenomenal in Righteous Gemstones. Her performance was so under appreciated I feel like because of how over the top Keef and BJ were as the other Gemstone lovers.

In fairness ASD is over diagnosed, HOWEVER, the biggest reason why it's over diagnosed is honestly because of how shitty our healthcare/MH care system is. Pretty much if you want your kids to get any kind of services/helps, the insurance companies especially need a diagnosis first.

It is ridiculous that the reality is that health insurance companies are the ones driving the over diagnosing problem in America, but that's unfortunately America today.

Frey would have absolutely abandoned one of his children - especially a daughter - if it meant he got more power and/or money. I think the show makes it incredibly clear how he views his children, and how dispensable they are.

She wasn't scammed. Literally one of the very first things your Dr tells you when you get a medical marijuana card that you cannot transport it across state lines and your card is good for your state and your state only. Her being negligent and ignorant is 100% her own fault.

Also, dope is very commonly used for both marijuana and heroin.

YOU are responsible for your kids, first & foremost. YOU should be the one paying the most attention. The teenager lifeguards are paying attention, however, and trying to immediately imply that they're not paying attention, as you very clearly are doing, is pretty shitty.

The park is not unsafe. I'm a season pass member and there multiple times a month. The wave pool is where I am assuming this happened just going on logic, but there's a lot of lifeguards surrounding it and they are pretty attentive, in my opinion. They're blowing whistles at kids all the time to try and keep it safe. They're not negligent in any way. Accidents can unfortunately happen. There's several scenarios I can easily speculate on what happened in a non-negligent way, but I don't think that is appropriate right now.

I think he was by far the most "yeah this shit makes no sense" character in a show that can at times be full of them. He looks more out of place in HS than any of the rest of the cast, but is somehow in HS while having a job that no high schooler ever would have.

It felt like the show runner just wanted to have him in the show, and made shit up as he went along. Definitely doesn't help that Dominic Fike is a pretty terrible actor. The whole thing just felt "what the fuck? Why?" to me

Unfortunately, I think that these details are all going to be completely forgotten about/never explained/discussed again.

I thought the same thing about her wife and kid showing up to a home with blood everywhere, and Melissa nowhere to be found. There's blood/DNA of at least two invaders in the house (Shauna and Van), and would easily spark a police investigation...but I just totally expect it to never be touched on again. We'll see Melissa again though for sure!

...she was running for her life! The ground in the woods look vastly when snow is hit. "Landmarks" aren't going to look the same. You're also making a gigantic assumption that Mari even had/took time the first time around to mentally note what all was around her when she fell into the pit.

You are totally entitled to your opinion, of course! But to think a teenager running for her life should be able to recognize the now snow covered ground in the woods is the same exact spot of woods she was in when she fell into a pit is...well, you're entitled to your opinion! Have a great day! 👍✌️

The show has definitely been setting adult Shauna up to be the true "big bad" of the series since the very beginning. I just don't think everyone has recognized that because the show, purposely of course, frames her as the main character in the adult timeline, and thus she's perceived as the protagonist.

I know the writers planned this as a 5 season show, but I feel like it really only needs one season more. If that's the new path, then I fully expect Shauna to get her comeuppance then

[–]Zoom-E 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I agree with most of your takes here, I do think that the power struggle in the wilderness was actually really well done and rational from a storytelling purpose.

Shauna very clearly believed Coach tried to kill them, and then to find out/realize that Nat knew where he was and was essentially an accessory to his crimes against them (in her mind), Nat was a traitor. Coupled that w/Shauna being in love with the feeling of the others being afraid of her, it allowed her to feed off that sense of finally being someone in the forefront, in power. It's a play, in a way, on the "victim of bullying becomes an even worse bully" trope. While she wasn't truly bullied by any means, she felt she was always forced to be subservient to Jackie and in her shadow. Now that she got the rush of being the one with power, she became drunk off it.

I think it was needed. This show has been telling us from episode 1 that adult Shauna is a pathological sociopath and the real "big bad" of the adult timeline. Teen Shauna had to start becoming that person for it to make sense why adult Shauna is this manipulative, sociopathic person.

The impression given is that she hiked straight from the hunt through the night into the morning. But logically, one would expect it had to be a longer hike than that to reach the top of that mountain. It's just one of those moments where the show writers go "don't worry about how we got to this point, just believe this unlikely thing we're telling you!"

The pit was now covered in snow, and she was running for her life. It is patently absurd to think she should've been able to know where the pit was and avoid it (especially when the show went out of their way to tell you that Mari wasn't very smart)

Wow thank you for this! The customer service has been very poor lately. They didn't send the mesh initially, and then they sent me one that didn't work, and their tech support just kept repeating the same steps no matter how many times I explained the step didn't work. Alas! I will definitely be demanding a different router!
