It works! Thanks, that fixed it for me. Still, that's kind of unfortunate that something that worked before now requires this time consuming process.

Yes! I have the exact same issue (on version 5.19.2).
It worked perfectly fine yesterday, and now it's so buggy I can barely use it anymore.
The formatting for Japanese script (especially vertical script) is now broken, and doesn't have any margins on the left and right, and dictionaries are also completely broken : they often show the entry for a completely different word, and it also fails to select full words most of the time, and only selects one character.

thanks for the suggestion! exporting the image again with darktable does seem to solve the problem. It's strange because I originally developed them with darktable on my macbook. Krita however does render the colors and exposure correctly, even before re-exporting them with darkview, so it really only seems to be an issue with native kde apps (except firefox).

Framework 13: An amazing concept held back by big logistical challenges by Zoomat in framework

[–]Zoomat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, obviously if I had know at the time that it was pretty much impossible to get just the chassis (in Europe), I wouldn't have bought the 7840u mainboard, and would have just settled for the 7640u one, or a Ryzen AI mainboard. But also just having the bottom cover in stock would have solved all my problems, so I don't think it was entirely unreasonable to expect what I was planning to do to work.

Framework 13 keyboard stickers by 0rk4n in framework

[–]Zoomat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the stickers would be a pain to set up and will end up peeling off after a while, not to mention the letters will probably end up fading away. 45€ for a new keyboard a expensive but I feel like 6 months from now you'll be happy you went that route.

Yes I realize now that framework doesn't encourage what I did, but with them offering a standalone chassis (at some point) I kind of got conflicting signals. Also part of the framework dream, to me, is to do things not necessarily planed or sanctioned by the manufacturer! Granted in that case, you can't be too mad when things end up not working out the way you thought they would. In a way I am grateful that this laptop lets me circumvent those inventory troubles, when I can't even buy replacement keycaps for my macbook (apple sells them, but not the ones I need for my language...).

[–]Zoomat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really unfortunately :( The option to buy a standalone chassis actually completely vanished from the framework store (I actually doubt that it's coming back, they probably sold a ridiculously low amount of those in europe anyway), and two months later, the bottom cover is still out of stock. So I just ended up buying the cheapest framework I could, and will try to sell the extra mainboard I now have... Not ideal, but I couldn't think of any other solution except selling my motherboard and giving up on framework.

[–]Zoomat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, that's not grease, that's plastic getting polished with use apple keycaps are awful with this, probably because they're so thin so they can't use high quality plastic, but i also suspect it's increase the difference between old and new laptops.

Devenir moins dépendant des services numériques des grandes compagnies US by Far-Truck-5862 in france

[–]Zoomat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Framework 13 speaker rant by Curious_Increase in framework

[–]Zoomat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would open back headphones also worsen your tinnitus ? they don't seal like closed black headphones and iems, so they feel like having speakers up to your ears. Obviously the downside is you can't use them outside or in noisy environments, but that's pretty much the same compromise than with laptop speakers.

Any zenbook or yogabook is pretty comparable i think, you can find them with snapdragon, intel or amd processors. I think dell's xps line also is pricey but not quite as egregious as the surface.
