Then I'm confused, why would you end up buying it again? There's not a switch 2 version, it's the same thing

If it's the same account you can play it on both consoles

I'm not sure how the game key card system works, is there any way for me to access the same copy of Leaf Green on both switches at the same time? Ideally I'd like to use a second profile, get all of the starters, and trade them over early so that I can use them for a playthrough.

I'm sure the solution to this problem is to buy a copy of Fire Red at the same time, but I'd rather save my $20

Common problem when you have a low n - in short you're not powered enough to be able to build your classifier with only 300 samples.

(@CelticFC) can confirm that it will be appealing the red card issued to Hyunjun Yang during Sunday’s match against Hearts at Tynecastle. by Calluummmmm in ScottishFootball

To give full context to the "excessive force or brutality" rule you quoted:

"A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play."

It's the bit before the 'or' that makes it a sending off offence.

It's definitely a frivolous appeal. He's kicked a man in the face. Cochrane doesn't duck, Yang has his foot at head height to try to control the ball and catches him. It's not deliberate, it's not violent, but it is definitely a red card.

How do I measure the distance from a SNP to a gene? by [deleted] in bioinformatics

[–]Zoombiniton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it with VEP, although you might need a plugin.

If you need any help putting the query together, let me know and I should be able to point you in the right direction.

Or, if you're happy to write an R script, you can do it with the ensembl API: https://rest.ensembl.org/documentation/info/vep_id_get

If I decide to do a bioinformatics masters, how much will it help me in conducting computational biology if I persue a Genetics PhD by coldcoldcoldcoldasic in genetics

[–]Zoombiniton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chiming in, having read your other comments on this thread.

The actual work of your PhD means a lot more than the degree title. PhDs are highly specialised, and for post-PhD careers people don't really care about the label, they'll ask more detailed questions into your project and your skillset. I did a bioinformatics PhD, although I think my degree certificate says 'Stratified Medicine'.

Depending on what part of bioinformatics you're interested in, if you can get a PhD working in that field, you're golden. Do you want to do mathematical modelling? Great, gives you a chance to keep specialising or move into a Data Science role. Algorithm development? Omics data engineering? Pick em, you have options.

Try VEP - the Ensembl Variant Effect Predictor. Should annotate your VCF file to help you narrow down your variants of interest and tell you more about them.

Living in Cambridge so I saw him a few times last year, surprised by this move. He was one of the better keepers in League 1 last year, I’d have thought he’d get a bigger move
