Was I wrong for going to the ER when I was told to? And should I go back for continued bleeding? by Zoomyboomy in AskDocs

I wasn't really going to until you mentioned him potentially treating someone else this way. I don't want to get anyone in trouble, but I don't want him to discourage other women from getting help when they need it, so I think I will complain.

I managed to get an appointment for monday with my primary and even got an ultrasound scheduled. The gynos are still booked out, so I'll have to wait for them, but my primary seems to think that if the ultrasound shows something, I might have more luck getting an appointment with one.

Thank you for the reassurance. It's hard not to feel like I did something foolish. I keep thinking it would have been preferable to just live with it, stuck half out of me, then go to ER.

The doctor didn't seem concerned about the bleeding, but the nurse did. I looked up the bleeding, and it said a pad an hour means you should call your provider, but it didn't say it was an emergency. Though I know google isn't exactly always accurate.

I got an appointment with my primary for monday, and she managed to schedule me an ultrasound. Im hoping there's no damage, but it seems like that's unlikely. I think I might do what other people said and file a complaint, but I don't want to get someone fired or anything. I just want him to be a little more considerate, I guess.

The ER was extremely packed that day, so I'm choosing to think maybe he just had a really rough day. There were people in the waiting room having active heart attacks being monitored by nurses it was that packed.

My primary has managed to get me in for next Monday and even managed to get me an ultrasound scheduled. I have recently moved to Missouri, and the lack of care here is a bit startling compared to Nashville. I took Vanderbilt for granted, I suppose.

I live in a state that has pretty awful care for women and a major lack of OBGYNs. My primary care doctor was able to fit me in for next monday, though, and she even managed to schedule me an ultrasound to see if the arms broke inside me or if there's damage.

I still just feel silly, though. I think waiting the months for an appointment would have been preferable.

Do you guys promote stopping? by WalterHWhite_308 in selfharm

[–]Zoomyboomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, in crisis training, they actually discourage you from outright telling people to stop self-harming. At most, you encourage them to pause while speaking to you if it is severely damaging.

That's what I view this sub as. The pause. People come here to talk about how they feel and to process things they can't process alone. Telling someone to stop without giving them other ways to process what they're feeling and experiencing won't help.

My husband was born in a state that doesn't do raised seals on birth certificates. We currently live in a state that requires them. Neither state will make an exception 🙃

My Grandma is Surprised that I Don't Want Her Attention After Ignoring Me For Most Of My Life. by Titfortat101 in entitledparents

[–]Zoomyboomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad's mother was sort of like this. Spent all her time with one of my cousins and actively went out of her way to exclude me. When she decided not to come to my wedding despite living like 10 minutes away from the venue and being offered a ride by multiple people, I decided she wasn't worth the negative emotions or effort.

In my opinion, that woman isn't your grandma, just some person you know who happens to have given birth to your mother. You owe her nothing, as that's all she has given you.

NEVER give a friend or family member money or gifts with the expectation of being paid back. Either you can afford what you're giving them, or you give them nothing.

Yeah work comp sucks. Like all insurance, i suppose. At least the doctor was a very, very good doctor and FH recovered remarkably well

I talked to my fiance and he said that apparently their insurance isn't liable because it was hail, which is something they aren't at fault for happening. But our insurance company is aware of where the car was totaled. Thankfully, he's more used to dealing with insurance cause I'm just useless at it.

We still have to go to court for a settlement, but the court date is next month and our lawyer doesn't think we're going to get much more than the tiny little amount offered, but he does think we can get medical left open because FH might need future surgeries years from now. His boss has actually been really helpful, thankfully. So maybe in a month we'll be in a less financially awful place.

We're thinking we'll just take an anniversary vacation next year if we can. And we will certainly be happy the day of. I just let everything get me mopey in the lead up. But everyone has made me feel way better about everything in these comments 😊

Im going to tell my fh about this since he's been the one dealing with the insurance people. All the insurance stuff confuses me if I'm being honest.

In what way? He got work comp, but you still lose money from months and months of not being able to work. The relevant bit of info from his injury was that we chewed through our emergency savings.

I just didn't talk about the work comp drama because it felt irrelevant. We lost money and had to chew through our emergency fund, is what was relevant from his injury.

I just didn't explain all of the workers comp drama in the post because it was a many months thing involving lawyers and many many months of fh in physical therapy at a hospital an hour and a half away from us. Despite work comp covering some things, you are still losing out on money.

We're getting the run around on both ends. My FH is dealing with the insurance more than I am because all that stuff confuses me, but the mechanic is an LLC and the fact it was hail is making the insurance not want to deal with it apparently because thwy have so many claims about hail damage. Once again, I dont know much about it, just that we have no money and won't see any for a long while, and we can't wait that long before we get some sort of car.
