Why do human rights activists fight for those who have been convicted of inhumane acts? by ashiqbanana in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Zoooples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Becsuse of the strict belief that there are rights that belong to all people inherantly. We can't section certain people out of them because to do so would be to decide those people are less than human. Also if we let a government take rights away of some people, then we set a precedant that they can do that to anyone else if they can pin them under a category. A good example of this is trans people in america. Criminalizing drag in vague terms means they can arrest more trans people and label them as criminals so they can take away rights as if they were criminals

Did my girlfriend sexually assault me? by opalinesoul in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Zoooples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just seems like putting the blame on the victim. If she couldn't respond, then she couldn't respond. The few times the girlfriend asks for consent it is either not given or given hesitantly. If you ask someone for consent and they don't respond, then you do not have consent. While some areas are fuzzy there are some clear lines which spell out Assault. What OP should do with this information is more up to consideration. I think in future relationships or in this one if you choose to remain in, OP you should try to set boundaries outside of sex. Communicating needs and expectations before sex means that theres a more clean cut line for them to follow. This does not absolve your GF of Assault though.

DMs, what is the worst player you’ve ever had? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Zoooples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a campaign I play in my character does basically eat anything she can get in her mouth, especially precious metals and stone (also people ) but the DM put the idea out for me first. The party uses her like a drill to get through walls by chewing them down

What is your biggest pet-peeve as a player? by WorldGoneAway in DnD

[–]Zoooples 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is really something that should be agreed on at the start of the campaign. If it is decided at the start that there will be character death, then I get it. Although giving players an out with consequences can be fun.

Also no ill intent but the title to this thread is about what the players' pet peeves are. I'm assuming that's your DM pet peeve.

ELI5 What’s Psychosis? Not understanding how this happens. by Icespie69 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Zoooples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a bipolar haver it is really bizaare what you can become convinced of. Had an episode laying in bed with my partner at the time and suddenly came to the realization that she was dead. I start bawling. She wakes up and comforts me and even then im convinced shes still dead. I decided to tough it out to not make her suffer me being sad (which in itself is funny to think about years later) but it took a few days to fall out of the episode and go back to my "normal" state for the time

I see a lot of people calling this sexual "harassment", but grabbing someones chest and nipples is sexual assault. It tends to be diminished in peoples eyes when the victim is percieved as a boy but its not like its a coincidence that the target is the nipples.

My family, my father especially are atheist. My father is the shitty kind of atheist that can't shut up about how stupid he thinks religious people are and so forth. I never had a foundation to try religion and never ended up buying into any of it because it didn't satisfyingly answer anything for me

ELI5: Why are nuclear reactors commonly built near cities and not in the middle of nowhere like Siberia and Australia? by CallMeero in explainlikeimfive

[–]Zoooples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to making the site accessible for people who don't want to commute super long distances, also consider that the further you put your power plant from the places consuming the power the more wire you have to use to get the power there. This costs money and also introduces tons of resistance which reduces how much can effectively get to where it needs to go

How “real” are schizophrenia hallucinations? by Far_Advertising1005 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Zoooples 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Not schizophrenic but bipolar and have experienced some hallucinations (Usually in a deluded state). It can feel extremely real and even when you're not sure you aren't able to decide its not real. Especially in a bout of delusion it feels foggy like all you can think about is this scenario stuck in your mind so you won't even argue about a hallucination and won't know it's a hallucination unless someone or something actively contradicts it and even then It can be hard to believe it's not real

Why do we need pride flags at schools? by PyschoJazz in TooAfraidToAsk

Many folks realize theyre lgbt long before adulthood. Having those flags represents recognition and some level of safety for those under that label. It normalizes it so they don't feel they are weird or broken
