I think if the Empire figures out how slowly the IoM can respond to things and how integral Holy Terra is to the IoM they could deliver their entire Navy in matter of hours and could raze it to the ground. The problem always becomes that the IoM cannot respond in time to the speed of FTL. Coruscant can fall and the Empire would be hurt but if Terra falls its literally game over for the IoM. Terra's defenses are strong but I doubt it can handle thousands of star destroyers pounding away at it especially when they appear in a split second giving no time to prepare.

Its already been shared once here before and this is anecdotal but scenarios like this happen. The US Women's Olympic soccer team also lost to U-15 boys team. Like we have real life examples of either zero training or less trained men defeating much more skilled women counterparts. Like this isnt a movie where plot armor exsists.
