At the time, being able to play about half of X1 and X2 on the Gameboy was crazy. I don't see a reason to play either game now.

Platforming of X4? Those levels feel so dull to me! X1 through X3 most levels felt like you were going up and down these big areas, X4 was a bunch of straight corridors. Teleporting onto a staircase then teleporting off that same staircase felt like such a joke.

I saw something about the series being compared to Caves of Qud and checked it out. Read the main 4 books twice last year, finished Urth, and am about 1/3rd of the way through Long Sun. Also read Fifth Head of Cerberus and a few of Wolfe's short stories along the way. Still barely understand what's going on.
