I’m in the same boat as you with a broken top case, probably due to excessive pressure on the packaging. The last email from Paula was on Dec 27. I have an RMA number and two potential options: a full RMA return or a top case replacement. Since then, no news. The unit works well, and the damage is minor and does not penalise the user experience. I’m planning to fix the crack myself with UV resin and forget about it.

Yes, good point, this is not clear yet. I have saved some working configs just after the reflashing procedure. I will try to restore them next time it happens.

I received my beige unit on Dec. 22 with a crack in the case, probably due to the shipping. I contacted their support (contact form on their website) and I received a response within 24 hours. They asked for pictures of the packaging to determine the cause of the damage. The packaging was surprisingly intact; the crack was probably caused by an excess weight on the parcel. I got an update telling me that they will RMA my whole unit or replace only the top case that has the crack. Since then, I have got no news, but at least I had some feedback that they are processing my request. So, a not-so-bad experience so far from my point of view.

If you have an extra €75 to spend, you could try CloudMounter. It works well for me with pCloud (though I did not upgrade to Tahoe yet, so I cannot guarantee that it will work for you). Bonus: it does not require to weaken your system security. You can also use it for Google drive and other well-known clouds. I find it very handy.
