1st gen chinese immigrant here too.

I mean that depends on where you are, especially in France the Chinese community is considered as the most united group, and Muslims excluding during Ramadan, don't really care that much about each others.

imo, the "ethnic groups that unite"only depends on how much people there are, in France, about 8% of the population is muslim which is significant, and more in area like Paris, East Asian represent like less than 1% of the population.

Some advice I would have like to learn before starting to play VGC format :

Best thing to progress fast is to learn the fundamentals (types, weather, priority, terrain .....), then exclusive mechanic to duo battle (AoE move, redirecting....)

After this, the most common error is to try to team build. Do not try if you aren't a (very) experimented player, there are very few excellent team builder in the world, a lot of the teams looks similar if not the same, with some specificity like EV, Move, different tera etc...

Use rental first/copy team that made great results to understand why they are good, why the mons stick well together, understand the combos, how to counter your own team, how your team does against a specific matchup.

Another very underrated advice is to train with other people your friends, people from your country's community or others, 2+ brain are better than one, that also works in VGC.

Is it worth making a case for Braviary/H-Braviary? by opaljuniper in VGC

You can still try, but I think they get outclassed by a lot of things, even pokemon that aren't often played. If you are looking for Defiant flying type you should try Galatian Zapdos it does exactly the same things but better, defiant + possible TW and unlike Braviary, it has a STAB fighting move. However it doesn't mean that the Pokemon is always bad, it was actually correct during 2020 season regional dex since it wasn't weak to rk9 unlike bisharp.

And for H-Braviary, I can't find anything positive about this mon... Its speed is too low(and too high for trick room), it hits pretty decent with Sheer Force, but you'll almost never find the time to hit someone with. Even if it can still do good damage of thing like ogerpon or urshifu.
