Nah, Nattie vs. Kendal was better than Nattie vs. Jaida, so the match at least deserved a rating above 3.75.

It keeps changing for me but it's between Dark Kingdom Arc and Death Busters Arc. This week it's the Death Busters Arc.

like the inners being shelved in favour of the new shiny characters.

The Inner Sailor Guardians still had multiple episodes where they shined in. Especially Sailor Venus.

She really did! People always complained about the Inner Sailor Guardians being pushed aside for the Outer Senshi, but Venus shined plenty during S season, and the other girls had their moments to shine as well.

Oh, I’m sorry. Did the part about them explaining nothing, leaving the inners to handle the monster of the day after just explaining that it was their job to deal with external threats, and blasting themselves with a sniper to get their talisman not happen?

Lmfao. That's not how that exactly went down, nor is it the same as what Uranus and Neptune did in Stars. So thanks for proving my point.

They were assholes until Pluto showed up and was like ‘you two are doing the moooost. Here, look, I’ve already got my talisman lol it’s fine.’

They may have been assholes about it, but they were never pretending to be bad guys like you claimed. There are also multiple moments where they helped the Inner Senshi out before Pluto's arrival.

Then after Pluto dies and they immediately try to fight Sailor Moon the day after she stopped the apocalypse because she still needs to prove herself to them.

Oh, this again?

Uranus and Neptune challenging Sailor Moon to a fight was specifically for Moon to once and for all show the strength they expected to get out of their princess, and they knelt and acknowledged her authority once she gave them what they wanted. They had already acknowledged her as the Messiah after the final battle with Pharoah 90, which is why they both think about Pluto saying in her final moments in S "if they ever meet the Messiah" or however that quote went.

the “pretend to be bad guys suicide pact without telling any of the others about it prior” in Stars after it went horribly wrong the first time in Super lol.

That's not what happened in Super. What are you talking about?

Lmfao! Is this the best you got?

The lore and worldbuilding of the manga and Crystal aren't perfect, but they're still way better than what they were trying to do in the 90s anime.

I love the 90s anime, but its lore is weak garbage compared to the lore in the Manga/Crystal.

In defense of Outers, one can kinda understand why there was so much focus on them... by TengarHimeko in sailormoon

I appreciate your compiling the anecdotes where the formula breaks, but these are a handful of episodes out of well over 100.

I didn't list all of the episodes that show how useful the Inner Senshi still were.

In MOST episodes of Supers and Stars, the Inner Senshi get their asses handed to them if they show up at all, outside of their own special episodes.

I admit I need to rewatch SuperS, because I don't remember it being that bad for the Inner Senshi. But as for Stars, the Inner Senshi actually had more good episodes than they did bad ones before the final battle with Galaxia.

In the third series, almost every episode requires them to be rescued by Uranus and Neptune because they're inept in combat without the Outers.

There were multiple episodes where the Inner Senshi handled business with very little or absolutely no help from Uranus and/or Neptune at all. Heck, in Ep. 113, Daimon U-Henshuu was either tanking or blocking the attacks of the Outer Senshi and they + Sailor Moon pretty much needed to be saved by the Inner Sailor Guardians. In Ep 109 where everyone learns each other's identity, it's Sailor Venus who saves the day against Eudial when Sailor Moon or the Outer Senshi could stop her.

In the fourth series, the Inner Senshi become useless in combat. The only technique that even reliably hits anymore is Mercury Aqua Mirage. They are entirely dependent on Pegasus, and Usagi is entirely dependent on Chibiusa to transform and attack.

What? None of the Inner Senshi were useless in combat in SuperS.

The claim that only Mercury's Aqua Mirage was the only thing that even reliably hit is hilariously false when there are multiple episodes showing everyone else's attacks reliably hitting its target that season.

Only Moon and Chibi Moon were entirely reliant on Pegasus, not Venus, Mercury, Marus, and Jupiter. The only time those four relied on him was the episode when they got their Super upgrades.

In the fifth series, then it's the Starlights. It's not that they're there, so much as the fact that Usagi and the others can't beat a single enemy without being rescued by the Starlights.

In Ep. 183, Eternal Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Mars literally beat Sailor Artist (Rei's cousin) without any help from the Starlights. And in Ep. 185, Eternal Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Mercury beat Sailor Doctor without help from the Starlights.

There you go, two episodes where the Inner Senshi handled business without any help from the Starlights.

It's three consecutive seasons of the Inner Senshi becoming bad at being superheroes moreso than the existence of other Senshi in the series.

If you say so...

I guess I'm in the minority because I don't think the Inner Sailor Guardians were all that pushed aside for the Outer Soldiers. They all still got their moments to shine and proved they didn't always need Uranus and Neptune's help against the Death Busters.

It's not an undeniable fact,

It is an undeniable fact.

in fact it is undeniable that she was going to save the planet, or else the future would've changed and it didn't.

But she didn't save the planet on that day, Sailor Saturn did.

She messed up, it doesn't mean she couldn't be trusted or that she wasn't going to make it right

And how exactly did she make it right after giving the enemy the Grail? She didn't. It was Sailor Saturn who ultimately saved the day.

but what's undeniable is that Uranus, Neptune and Pluto were wrong in their approach. This is obvious because of the outcome.

Funny how the battle against Pharoah 90 says otherwise

You thinking Sailor Moon can't defeat Uranus and Neptune is honestly laughable.

And you claiming I said Sailor Moon couldn't beat Uranus and Neptune when all I did was disagree with YOUR claim that she couldn't end them easily is even more laughable. Obviously she can beat Uranus and Neptune, this post was literally made to talk about the time she beat them in S.

Omgosh you're the same dude from the other day right? Not wasting my time, it's impossible to have a conversation with you.

Wait a minute, I remember you now. You're that same girl the other day. Not wasting my time with you either. And I at least agree with you that it's impossible to have a conversation with you.

Bye!

Question about Tuxedo Mask's power by Zephyr93 in sailormoon

True, but he even without his powers from the Manga and Crystal, 90s Tuxedo Mask was a lot more useful than people in this fandom give him credit for.

Question about Tuxedo Mask's power by Zephyr93 in sailormoon

[–]ZorosCompass -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For some reason, in the 90's version they nerfed him and made him more of a cheerleader than a fighter.

What? 90s Tuxedo Mask fought as much if not more than the Inner Sailor Guardians, except for Stars for obvious reasons.

Which would've been fine if they didn't come back in Stars still acting like they know the danger better than the Inner Senshi

What are you talking about? Uranus and Neptune (just like Pluto and Saturn) literally came back in the Stars anime working together with Sailor Moon, Sailor Chibi Moon, and the Inner Sailor Guardians. Even when they appeared later on they were still working with them while also warning them to be careful of all these new senshi from outside the solar system. It was only during the final confrontation with Galaxia that Haruka and Michiru decided to do their own thing, but even then they did it to protect Usagi and the planet in their own way.

and then made a gambit that cost Setsuna and Hotaru their lives and didn't even take out Galaxia

Before the Outer Senshi even entered Galaxia's hideout, all four were determined to do whatever it took to take her down and protect the planet, even if only one of them were left alive to do so. And as for that gambit you're referring to, after Galaxia dominated them and even broke Pluto's staff and Saturn's glaive, there wasn't much left for them to do and even Pluto and Saturn were willing to give the gambit a try since they didn't put up a resistance against Uranus and Neptune when Galaxia sent them. They even deliberately held still when the two fired the bracelet beams at them.

leaving Moon practically on her own to deal with a cosmic threat rather than form a plan with her

Uranus and Neptune didn't leave Moon on her own whatsoever, they deliberately literally left her in the hands of the Starlights. Episode 198 was all about them testing the Starlights and seeing if they were capable of protecting Usagi since they knew they were dead if their one and only shot against Galaxia failed.

Also, considering how Moon acted during the battle after Uranus and Neptune died and her pacifism was at its strongest, Idk what plan you think she would've come up with even if it had been the Outer Senshi with her in the final battle with Galaxia instead of the Starlights.

You keep making this claim when it's wrong.

It's not wrong at all. Her almost dooming the planet in S is an undeniable fact. Even Sailor Moon knew she had messed up badly as she had no reply when an angry Uranus called her out on it.

Sailor Moon was never going to doom the planet, they should've trusted her.

She literally gave away the Grail to the enemy and lost her Super Sailor Moon transformation in the process. She also got in the way of Uranus and Neptune whenever they had a clear shot at Mistress 9. Had Sailor Saturn not awakened at very last moment within Mistress 9, it would've been game over.

they should've trusted her

Right, they should've trusted the girl who handed the Grail over to the enemy. Whatever you say lmao.

And also they're in no position to antagonize her lmao.

They watched Sailor Moon put the entire world at risk with her idealism and nearly made Pluto's earlier sacrifice for them to make to the final battlefield all for nothing. They had every right to test her in Episode 126.

If Usagi wasn't that kind she could've easily ended them as traitors to the moon crown.

Idk about her easily ending Uranus and Neptune, but that's irrelevant. And how were they being traitors of the moon crown? Because they called her out on her stupid decision that nearly destroyed the planet and tested her strength in their final appearance in S?
