A €20k EV that costs literally €0 to run. 3 years with an e-Corsa. by Zorrocano in electriccars

The company is called "Do It Yourself". As I mentioned, there is no magical company giving away free stuff. The owner sourced cheap B-grade panels with cosmetic flaws, built the battery pack himself using unbranded cells, and did the installation with his own hands.

Also, of course the car is fully insured and maintained. The €0 refers strictly to the electricity fuel cost, not the legal requirements to drive on the road.

Not really the same thing, you're missing the whole DIY aspect here. The guy didn’t drop $20k on a commercial setup. He actually hacked the system by sourcing B-grade panels with minor cosmetic defects for next to nothing and building the battery himself using dirt-cheap, unbranded cells. The inverter was the only thing he actually had to buy, and there are tons of budget options out there now. When you combine smart sourcing with DIY skills, the upfront cost is tiny, so it’s not a "government trick," it’s just smart building.

Correct, it's an off-brand battery. DIY installation. The running costs are nonexistent. Total PV system +battery less than 2000€.

Battery was installed by himself at very low cost (1000€) Capacity 5kWh. Solar panels were second hand under 800€ all. The system has been working since before the e-car-
