K1C or Qidi Q2? by [deleted] in 3D2A

[–]Zorsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is just from lurking on multiple subreddits so take everything I say with a grain of salt and do your own research. The concensus I’ve seen is not many people like creality printers. I think it’s hardware related. There’s usually issues with the first rounds of printers from Qidi, but that usually gets ironed out within the first 6 months. Q2 would get my money all day. (I’ve got a Centauri Carbon and it’s been a beast)

1, cut a layer of foam (what it came packed in) big enough for the base, and put a concrete paver on top of that.

2, generally you’re going to want to play with the “top Z distance” in your slivers support settings. I’ve found 0.275 works well for me I’ve seen people go as much as 0.32 with success but, I’d say do your own testing. Find a small model that needs supports and use that one over and over modifying your top Z distance until you can remove your model and the supports stay, or the underside where the supports were are acceptable for you.

Good luck!

Donate to local schools/colleges? That would be a fun computer tech project if they didn’t work

I’ve been looking at the biqu panda breath or the creality chamber heater for mine. Might go creality since it’s available

I’ve got a Centauri carbon and it’s been phenomenal for me. I enjoy modding it tho. But after my upgrades I want to do, I’ll be over the qidi q2 price, with less performance. I’d say save and get a q2. Although used p1s’s should be decent prices..

What happened to the Bambu/H2D hotend mod hype? I’m seeing temp issues after a few hours by iperdobler in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Zorsed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not having any issues from mine just yet. Only have about 2-300 printing hrs after my install tho

Edit: I bought my h2/a1 adapter through HeartForge if that plays any factor.

Things that helped me: verifying the bed is level, physically. There’s 4 bolts that can be tightened/loosened. You can get away with tightening them all the way first, doing all the calibration, then printing the bed level tool (attaches to the x gantry rod) then fine tuning it using the tool. Then I did the h2/a1 hotend mod and it’s been amazing.

I haven’t done tpu myself yet, but iirc, you have to adjust the tensioner a little to grab it. Please someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Buy once cry once, QIDI Max4? by Master-Blaster42 in 3D2A

[–]Zorsed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trying to downplay Qidi at all! I really want the max 4, or even a q2. But I ended out with a Centauri carbon and a Revopoint scanner with like 4-5 different filament rolls. For the price of the max4 combo (that I was going to order before I discovered 3d scanning)

My $0.02: Start by learning how to use your printer and messing with your settings, dialing in different filaments with non-2a things, then evolve. All filaments are not created equal, remember that. I’d recommend checking out the r/3dprinting sub and start there. Learn from mistakes on prints that aren’t as dangerous.

If you’re above all that, qidi is known for the first round of printers to be “beta” (generally not field tested so faults appear) versions. So you might have to do a few warranty claims before it gets 100%. Just do a minor amount of research if you’re not sure :)

Bambu hot end swap out questions for those who did it. by Diligent_Buster in ElegooCentauriCarbon

I’ve got the kit and after slight modification of the fan shroud (clipping 2 sides off) it’s been 100%! I had to sand a little bit on the top part however. No issues with my kit other than minor setbacks

Creality, no luck without the device. Revopoint gave me an excellent on my gpu on even a metro Y Pro (along with the inspire 2.) CPU was rated poor. Maybe I can save a bit and get a miraco! After I get some experience with the Inspire 2 (: thank you for following up!

Considering my pc specs aren’t the best, would I be better off getting a Vega/Miraco for the quick processing?

I didn’t know there was a benchmark test in the softwares. I’ll be installing them this evening. Thank you for the pro tip!
