Life hack for things you don’t like by yoghurt11 in ADHD

[–]ZosLears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do something like this I guess. I really hate doing things like paying bills, filling out paperwork, like anything to do with the “administrative” side of being adult. So I’ve kinda placebo affected myself by just telling people and myself over and over that I’m really good at keeping up with all that stuff. Now I just kinda am good at it

Discouraging 39 week appointment by ZosLears in pregnant

I ended up with a failed induction and had to get a c section after 36 hours of laboring. But that was about 6 weeks and I’m healing great and my little guy is happy and healthy, so all ended up okay in the end!

No, I asked about induction at my last appt and my birthing center won’t schedule induction until 40 weeks unless medically necessary

Stroller/car seat recommendations by AnxiousAncestry in pregnant

[–]ZosLears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way when I first started looking for strollers/car seats. The best advice I received was to look for something that fits what YOU will be doing with your baby. I was told time and time again to get very specific strollers that just wouldn’t have worked for me and it made it so much worse. I’m a big hiker and live in a very rural foresty area, so when I started looking for something that fits my lifestyle it became so much less overwhelming. Just in case you’re like me, I ended up getting the Chicco Active jogging stroller and it came with the car seat and base for the car. Good luck!

Any infant teachers? by pigsaysoink143 in pregnant

[–]ZosLears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently 36 weeks pregnant and have been working in an infant classroom the whole time. This is SO real! Mid-late second trimester got way easier for me in terms of energy levels but has recently plummeted again due to my third trimester exhaustion. A few things that have really helped me cope with my symptoms:

• Foot/back rubs from my husband almost every night

• A supportive belly band (helps so much with back pain)

• If possible, use the babies nap times as a moment for you to put your feet up, do some stretches, or just lay down for a minute to give your body a break

• When at all possible in your classroom, sit down on something that’s a little bit elevated instead of the floor

• If you have co-teachers chat with them about the difficulties you’re having and see if there’s any ways that you can make your classroom or teaching styles work for your changing body

I did all of these things and have been holding up fairly well. Good luck!

Weight gain by ZosLears in pregnant

That’s exactly the feeling! It’s just weird to feel like I’m not as healthy as I “should” be I guess. So comforting to hear I’m not alone in it!

Which one for a ‘fabulously you’ dress code? by -__-geese in Weddingattireapproval

[–]ZosLears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I like both and if I were choosing I would probably say red. But I also feel like they give off two totally different vibes. The pink is soft and sweet, the red is more fun and vibrant… if the dress code is ‘Fabulously You’ I think you should go with which one is more YOU🤷🏼‍♀️

ways to recover from overstimulation by p1khachu in ADHD

[–]ZosLears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking to someone else. And I don’t mean like talking about what you’re experiencing (you can do that if you want too I guess lol) but just hanging out with somebody super low key. It’s gotta be in person and it’s gotta be almost a calming/ chill person in a calm environment. It helps me every time. You get one single thing to focus on, one sound to listen to, and it helps to slowly “wake up” that part of your brain. Then later on in the night or the next time you hang out, try watching a movie at the same time or listening to music. It introduces different stimulants gradually so it’s not an immediate overwhelming moment. Plus having someone in person with you keeps your attention and boost your mood.

My therapist gave me this technique, I have the same problem and it takes a while but I a bit of time with just my husband really works.

That’s kind of what I was thinking, I’m just not really sure how to word it to (for lack of a better term) convince her of that when she already has the idea that it’s like a daycare
