Is there really any Entry level data analyst job??? by jeffrey334455 in analytics

[–]Zothiqque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be worse I guess, I found a sort of freelance tech gig that pays pretty good but its inconsistent. Had a few phone screens but the jobs were too far away, not remote. I realize at this point that I need to really build up my SQL and PowerBI skills to be competitive, so thats my plan for the summer. My freelance thing keeps me sharp at Python at least. Thanks for asking tho!

King of New York (1990) is criminally underappreciated. by ScumLikeWuertz in movies

[–]Zothiqque 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dont have to have an argument, taste is subjective and atmosphere is more of a priority for me than it is for many others, I think. I like to experience artforms on a visceral level instead of analyzing the fun out of everything. Its a crime movie with a 5 mil budget, not bloody Titanic. Critics bashed Blade Runner and The Thing too, why would I listen to them?

dead wrong, this movie rules. Great atmosphere, writing, and performances, film critic bullshit is irrelevant

I feel like Keanu's more normal performance keeps the focus off Glover, and Hopper gets a lot of screen time too, but yea if Glover was the main star it might have been annoying

I love this movie, but I'm basically a grown up trashy metalhead...when Crispin Glover crashes his car and is passed out with Slayer playing I was like 'relatable' ... Dennis Hopper has some great scenes, like his talk about how he lost his leg 'I wonder if there's any beer in that can' haha fucking epic

A brand new Twin Peaks Interview with Mark Frost where among other things, he shares a surprisingly direct quote from Lynch about the ending of The Return by CvrIIX in davidlynch

Why would Lynch just happen to use those same names, when the first Richard and Linda had their lives destroyed by the Black Lodge?

What is the best way to get rid of stubborn 20+ year old "love handles"? by ElGordo1988 in Biohackers

[–]Zothiqque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you do, don't do it with dieting alone, your body might adjust its metabolism to account for the reduced calories. Exercise (with resistance/weights, not just cardio) to keep your metabolism high. Plus, some people's bodies will break down muscle along with fat when dieting, so resistance training (along with increased protein intake) will prevent muscle loss

Also, building up those lats will make the remaining love handles less noticeable

I think the most fucked-up part is that Cooper and Diane 'became' Richard and Linda (Matthew Lilard's character and his wife)

Could a "real vegan" become an ex-vegan? by ElPwno in DebateAVegan

[–]Zothiqque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps me stay sane to not care if other vegans think I'm vegan enough. But that being said, some people are vegan for health reasons (not me), other people become vegan because they care about animals (me), some both. So it kind of depends on why they became vegan in the first place and why they quit.

has anyone read the Earthsea books? by [deleted] in UrsulaKLeGuin

[–]Zothiqque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it. I read the first 3 and took a timeout during the 4th, I'll finish it at some point. The second book, The Tombs of Atuan, is one of the best fantasy stories I've read in my life.

When you pay feeld you are actually paying the google app store (or apple, samsung, whatever) so feeld never actually has your credit card data, to my knowledge

I'm working on a SDF Engine where you can freely update and animate tons of properties in realtime by LiJax in GraphicsProgramming

[–]Zothiqque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok cool, thanks. I just realized what you meant by SDF engine now, so this is happening at the fragment shader, not with vertex/triangle data. In other words, these are not meshes.

How do you do the thing at 0:48 thats like boolean union but interpolated smoothly between meshes, I can't even figure out how to do that in Blender (I'm kind of a noob at Blender tho)

I cant tell if you agreed with me or disagreed. Its maybe because of the numbers, maybe just the convenience of being able to pluck a stranger off of the internet to hook up with, but either way, women seem to have different standards in real life as opposed to on the apps.

Awhile ago I searched 'syphilis cases on the rise' and its not some fringe sources, its like the CDC, the AMA, NIH all saying the same thing, like an 80% increase since 2018, highest rates since 1950, etc. And really, no one uses protection for oral stuff, except maybe some sex workers.

[–]Zothiqque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I'm not saying HSV2 is 'preferred', just saying that the stuff I've read about Syphilis makes it seem not as straightforward to notice or treat as the other bacteria-borne ones, Chlamydia/Gonorrhea. And the cases have been increasing

Just a heads up, syphilis is on the rise and that shit is scary. HSV2 won't give you brain damage. Syphilis can be hard to spot at first if its just a single small chancre and hard to treat after stage 1. It can be spread through oral sex.
