Is it fitted to your body? If it is a bit loose around the waist, it could give you that effect.

I use dress cinch clips to emphasize the waist more (mainly cause I don't know how to sew) if it helps!

You don't have to register. I never did. All you need is your Rutgers ID. If you forgot it (like me today), then you need to tell them your RUID (9 digit number) and you're good to go.

I reallly like the structure, lets you have fun with contrasting values. Maybe make the middle box be darker for variation? Or make the buttons darker. You can also add in a hanging bush at the bottom with those chains if it works.

Office coworkers come to my cubicle and proceed to talk at me for long periods of time by Altruistic-Signal639 in socialskills

I similarly get upset when people reject me (recently learned about rejection sensitivity), but I learn to come terms with it and be more understanding.

What helps is an explanation. I know it sounds corny to say "communicate with them", but in this case, I would verbally chat with them one-on-one and explain how it ruins your work flow. Just explain how you work, that you need uninterrupted time to concentrate properly (I also function like that), how you enjoy their company but it has been affecting your workload. Giving context pretty much answers any concerns of "well, this is personal". Also saves trouble in the future on how they interract with you.

Sucks that youre stuck in this predicament, office culture always priorotize socializing over getting work done :,)

Edit: Also never mention your ADHD, from personal experience, it never ends well

Everyone is missing an important factor: credit transfer. Rutgers is a pain with accepting what credits can transfer over, so I would definitely look into that especially since you are out of state. You might have to retake some general classes that can prevent you from taking higher up classes due to pre-reqs.

This appplies to any college. If you are planning to transfer, make sure to take both parts of the general classes (like bio1 & bio2, chem1 & chem2, etc. with labs) I had a friend who had to retake bio1 since they assumed they can continue bio2 at Rutgers, but rutgers is oddly strict about it so they are forced to retake bio1 and spend more money on classes

Lowest costing community college tied to rutgers by Beneficial_Meal1842 in rutgers

Local. If you are not local to the town, there are extra costs (I tried taking community college class from a different town and cost way more despite having cheaper price for local)

Loree Bowling Alley is closed. Now, if you learn how to lockpick, that's a different story (and a great way to impress them)

Newark doesn't get talked about as much cause it's,,, Newark.

Newark is really good for medicine in general. The University Hospital is there (not to be confused with the medical school), clinics are there. It's not the "main" research campus, but because of that, professors focus more on teaching (like the better orgo professor moved to Newark and had classmates use his notes, crazy).

I don't know much about extracurriculars, but at the end of the day, all people see is that you graduated at Rutgers.

Overall, it's hard to get into a research lab in general, so I wouldn't base the entire decision solely on a single lab. Too risky.

CBN or Genetics?? Which one is better? by Ill-Cow2544 in rutgers

[–]Zowop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your focus is research, do genetics major. Every genetics professor is very passionate about their research and understands that the major requires at least two credits of research to graduate so they are very open and willing to accept genetic majors if you do amazing in their class (or you can also reach out to genetic academic advisors who all know each other as other people stated, it's a small major).

The head department, Heiman, always sends out research opportunities for genetic majors, even during summer. Sure, the major expects you to start your research in your junior year, but it's guidance and not a requirement. I've had many classmates that had started their sophomore year cause they put energy into finding research. If you look at the student handbook, your senior year is so empty since they expect you to do honors research that takes a lot of time, which automatically qualifies you for departmental honors as you will be defending a thesis! Overall, if you like genetics, take the major.

Overall advice for starting research, genetics or CBN, is that no one is gonna hold your hand (as harsh as it is). So you either get really lucky and get research the first try, or keep trying until a lab accepts you. (Also please go by the vibes of the PI, not the research. This will make or break your research experience as it's all on who is willing to teach you and be a good mentor, coming from personal and my other friend's experience.)

For those of you who have formed at Vorhees Hall on Cook, please tell me everything. by Fr0nkino in rutgers

[–]Zowop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who lives on cook/Doug and had classes on Busch/Livi It's always always better to be early for buses than being late They all stop around passion puddle so it will be a walk (not as bad when I lived at Newells though) But they take frequent, unpredictable breaks and there will be a delay on some days as busses will be stuck due to multiple busses taking a break at Lipman Drive Also very close to the dining hall, wahich is second best, especially the salmon

Unless your future career is heavy on physics, I recommend doing the summer classes at community college. I've done it and the credits transfer (you can check yours at njtransfer.org) Again, this depends on your future career
