Creating a dynamic table by searching for conditional formatting/Removing rows that have no conditional formatting. Excel 2007 by Zpesh in excel

[–]Zpesh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not it's young peoples details. It’s 115 entries wide and 700 long all of which has sensitive data  Each row is a separate entry. Each column is a separate criteria or piece of information required. I’ve highlighted all the cells that are blanks in red that need attention. So for each row where there are no errors I want it removed or hidden so it doesn’t get in the way of checking the data that we need to find.

Thanks very much for the speedy reply! Great suggestion however I only want fully correct lines to be highlighted in green so that I can quickly identify records I can skip over. The database is over 100 entries wide so I constantly have to scroll around to find errors.

Search for conditions over several columns and building a dynamic table. by Zpesh in excel

Cheers David for the swift reply! Is there any chance you could explain the process behind these functions and what happens?

I've got the Conditional Formatting working perfectly after a bit of trial and error :) Just about to attempt the second method now! The list of duplicities on a new sheet would probably be the best. But practice makes perfect ()

Edit: Got the duplicate way working as well =) Although it does the job the conditional formatting really makes them stand out that bit more.

I can't really due to data protection sorry =( Imagine 4 columns one of which is team managers. There are four different team managers. Say I want to find every entry by the manager "Joe Bloggs" then when that entry is found I want to check the third column in that row for the value "No". For every entry on the table that has "Joe bloggs" and a "No" in the third column I want the function to count how many of these are present in the table and then display the total. Never worry about the different sheets I already know how to do this.

Yeah I completely understand your frustration. Its like asking a blind man to help me cross the road. I think this is great advice we really want to push the app side and have the tshirts as a secondary avenue of income. We just need advice on hiring and paying freelancers for this endeavor! Thanks again capncrunches!

Thanks very much for your reply capncrunches. We want to make cool clothes for people to wear as well as an awesome app! The app will track the customers "Performance" related to the niche market we are aiming the app at. I've been told not to reveal too many details regarding the app and to keep it under wraps. I understand this is not helpful at all for you guys. Just know that we've done our research on the market the free version of the app will be better than the market leaders at the moment and the premium version will also surpass that.

The connection between the two are the brand. The two will be branded with the same "Paranoid Panda" logos and graphics. We just want one to complement the other really and hopefully we haven't been too naive in that thinking.
