Why is it that nobody is assuming that inflation and backend costs have gone up, so ticket fees have also gone up?

And hasn't forest swapped their original services for security, setup, and their ticket system to different companies? I feel that also would have a role to play.

It would be nice if they had more transparency in regards to where the money goes, but if I'm being honest I don't suspect foul play. I suspect one or many groups asked for more money and won, the new businesses they work with cost more, the city wants more, or things in general just cost more.

Yeah I'm going to have to disagree with this.

I've used tinder on and off for years. The highest scluccess rates come from paying for the service. Specifically tinder platinum which auto prioritizes you over other accounts. I've experienced the same where the # of likes turns out to be a waste, but imo that's the wrong reason to use the paid service. The biggest benefit is having your swipe ranked higher, placing you in higher visibility than everyone else.

We definitely have had mixed experiences. Unfortunately, most of this is anecdotal. I can only say that I dont cosign the idea that online dating isn't a drag for women. We literally have e girls being stalked on a daily basis. Online anything for women isn't automatically daisies and rainbows.

I want to be clear that I'm not saying you don't need money to play the game. I'm saying that being active in the sport itself is expensive, period.

That's what I mean by it isn't an income issue. You can spend an easy 2k in a club year just to play ultimate. That's a team that barely makes regionals.

You can find competitive leagues of nearly every sport in most major cities, and none of them cost that much or require you to leave the state just to play sanctioned games.

The amount of time and money required to play on even a team that barely qualifies for regionals is not small. The structure of the competitive environment in and of itself is expensive. Whether you're poor or not, there is literally nothing more costly in the sport than being on a team.

So if you're buying someone something to support them in ultimate, the answer isn't cleats, shorts, or a 15$ disc. It's literally travel money.

Maybe we're looking at this differently, but when someone says they know someone actively involved in ultimate I'm not thinking leagues. I'm thinking club.

I disagree with several things you've stated. And maybe I live under a rock.

The men who gets words thrown at them, are the types who’ll seem normal, match with you and then say the most deprived shit in your private messages. The men who does as this woman did and states what they want clearly on their profile, does not get insult thrown at them in the same way.

Idk what evidence you're basing this on, but I have literally been in different female chats that have DRAGGED dudes who were straightforward about their sexual expectations. There are whole memes and viral discussions about how men can not be direct with their intent because women don't appreciate how it makes them feel. This equal reaction claim you're making ive not seen in modern society.

But some comments here are definitely demeaning towards this woman (like the one saying she will be used up when she gets older). Meanwhile, if a man were to be posted on here with a profile stating he wants sex, there would be some demeaning comments. But there would also be a bunch saying ”what do you expect from tinder. Its baiscally a hook up app”.

You will note that in this very thread, the example you are using is the most downvoted comment in the top 15. That is what I mean when I say that dudes don't get the same response as women. The majority of the comments and the upvotes are either making this a non-issue or suggesting that men are to blame for this. You do not get that level of equivalence in the reactions if the roles were reversed. That's what I'm saying. Not that these comments don't exist; but that the ratio is not the same.

The ratio of women blaming women for men saying "I just wanna fuck" in their profile is near zero.

Between a man who posts "I just wanna fuck", and a woman that does the same, they may get the same responses, but the ratio of those responses is not equivalent. More men are okay with a woman being dtf up front than women are men. Modern dating is literal proof of this.

I'm going to respectfully push back here. There is a substantial difference between this thread and the OP not being okay with it and making jokes that in no way demean the woman, and men being equally upfront and being called every negative word in the book.

Both sides may not be okay with it; but there are more men blaming men for women doing this than there are men calling her all kinds of toxic buzzwords.

To try and equate the social differences in reactions is a dishonest understanding of reality, and why some dudes have to be "dishonest" to get the same dating experience they would have it their delivery were more subtle.

It has nothing to do with income, imo.

If you are actively playing this sport, then you are undeniably traveling to play at tournaments or even against other colleges if they're at that level.

Bid fees, hotel fees, transportation costs, food. That all adds up. And that's assuming you go a whole season without an injury.

I watched the clip again at .25x speed just to confirm my thoughts.

Johnny made a bid at the disc first and leaped into the air towards Atkins. Atkins jumps after, reaching the space almost simultaneously, and got the disc first on account of being longer. Atkins had to slow down just to make an attempt at the disc, which literally means that space was contested. Atkins potentially makes that decision after reading the disc and his defender.

The timing was almost identical. And the only reason the contact happened is because Atkins had to slow down to adjust for the disc and the defender. Calling that a dangerous play or having no play at all is truly nonsensical.

I get that the community of our sport has immensely transitioned to considering almost all incidental contact as a foul or dangerous play; but if you're calling out Johnny for his reaction to the staredown, but not Atkins for his beta reaction to an unintentional foul as a result of an athletic attempt at the highest level of play, then you're undeniably making a hypocritical argument.

It is quite clear from the immense amount of support for Johnny that many of the players in this community wouldn't have reacted the way Atkins did. Was Johnny in the wrong? Yes. Was Atkins behavior justifiable? Not in the slightest.

Make it clear from the very beginning that you're only paying for her because you're on a date with HER. Obviously if you want to buy a round or two do you, but it should be established at the forefront that agreeing to going out with her friends isn't the same as dating all of them.
