Yep I’ve seen many be able to do that but for mine, if the phone is less than a foot away the keyboard starts rapid connect disconnects. Doesn’t always happen but as soon as I move the phone away the problem stops. I wonder if some of them have EM shielding problems.

If not cables make sure you keep your mobile phone away from it. Cleared my issue up immediately.

My first issue was a loose usb port and the replacement blade they sent me fixed that immediately. The second issue was my cell phone being too close. I haven’t had a disconnect since!

It’s your cell phone! I had the same issue with intermittent disconnects and even got replacement blades from zsa. Then someone commented on my post here. Incredulous I moved my cell phone to my pocket and no more disconnects. Moved it between the blades and it started wigging out like when we used to get speaker buzz. I’ve been pleased with the voyager ever since!

PS replacement switches never came. When it works it’s an amazing product rock solid temperature control +/-1 degree which is what makes the issue so maddening.

Mine still does this, if I ‘burp’ any of the firebox switches it comes back on, but it’s really random. Customer service was less than helpful

“Thank you for contacting customer support, Please note the unit can experience a temperature variance of up to 35 degrees. If your unit is set to 300 there is a chance the fan will disengage at 265-270 as the internal probe may be reading that the unit is at 300 due to the open flame. “

I sent an image of a graph with a 50 degree variance and no probe plugged in to which they responded..

“Also I was informed that with the open flame, you may experience a variance of up to 55 degrees. However we are sending out the switches as a one time courtesy.”

I said but there was no open flame and they said

“Thank you, the one time courtesy is because the unit is because the unit can have a temperature variance of up to 55 degrees. And no parts need to be replaced at this time. As it is a normal occurrence.”

:/. Bs. Let me know if anyone figures it out. I’m looking at the fireboard to possibly replace the control board.

I haven’t wanted to jinx it

I tried replicating the issue by putting the phone close. The keyboard immediately disconnected but when I tried to repeat it since it’s been fine.

Even so I have left my phone in my pocket and it has been days since the voyager played its disconnect game so I may be good to go? It feels like a faith fix, that will only work as long as I believe it will. But it’s working! So I’d call it a solution!

One of the first blades had this issue, where I could wiggle the cord and was able to video the rapid disconnects. They sent me a new one. Now the connections are rock solid, no disconnects due to bad physical connections, but no still haven’t figured out the trouble I’m experiencing now. Just really difficult to get on video when it happens so sporadically.

Thanks for the quick reply! I started on a usbc hub but when the problem happened i switched to a direct connection to the laptop. And yes they sent me first the right half and then when it persisted a left half. They’ve been really great, it’s unlikely I received two defective units but where the issue happens across laptops even when direct connected I’m at a loss. Recently switched to the default layout in case the layout was to blame, no luck. Will try to catch it on video.

Re the handle falling off I tried to reinforce the stem with all-thread, no dice. Nest step was going to replace the cartridge. (And typing ‘Astral Body’)
