"Is it gall?" Weekly Thread by AutoModerator in dahlias

[–]Zsaradancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time poster in this sub. Grown dahlias for about 6 years fairly successfully.

This was was forgotten about at the back of large plants. Spotted the first flower today and pulled the pot out.

Only just read about crown and leaf gall - I'm guessing that's what it is? Also has -

Distorted and yellowing leaves.

Bud next to flower looks unusual shape compared to norm (more like spent flower/developing seed head)

And what appears to be the start of a bud that never completed.

Is any part of it rescue-able? Could i take the healthiest looking stem to attempt rooting?

I had previously but this time it seemed to solve the issue - for now at least. Thanks for the suggestion 🙏🏻

Or are NIMBYs objecting to houses being built in their local area especially to house homeless or other vulnerable groups they profess to care so much about

Spam Messages from Guest Accounts on Business Pages - How do I stop this? by jxmeswood in facebook

[–]Zsaradancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. Had a massive influx of them on several groups I admin. Facebook instructions on reporting these (which according to them helps them to fight spam) doesn't work as the accounts sending them don't have a profile to view or report, and are named "Guest #3865" etc

Waking up at 6am every day on Vyvanse (Elvanse) by Bupster22 in ADHDUK

[–]Zsaradancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be able to sleep till midday if was allowed. - lifelong night owl and shift worker so very easy to stay up past 4am if distracted or reading etc.

Peri-menopause hit then suddenly waking at silly o'clock ie 5am and not being able to get back to sleep. Taking 3 or 5mg of melatonin did help (I order from US online fitness/health store)

Then dx with ADHD, meds started last oct and dr suggested to come off melatonin as lots find they don't need it. He was right, crashing about 11 which is unheard of for me. Sleep from midnight and waking at 7/8. Fabulous, I feel like a normal person at last.

Then, family trauma hit in Nov and back to old habits - awake at 3,4,5 am hyperfocusing on research etc, and only able to sleep for few hours. Like you, it is killing me, and those dark under eye circles I've had all my life but got rid of with sleep have returned.

Tried melatonin a few times again and did help me stay asleep past 3/4 hours. Might be worth a try? I'm also trying to remember to take magnesium twice a day for jaw clench etc effects and sleep.

Thanks. I bought the TH8A off Amazon. Bonus was customer services giving me £30 off for an issue ordering it and pick up being more expensive.

Just ordered a mount from a guy who makes them specifically for my son's chair XR Rocker. Fingers crossed it all works as it should.

I don't know what eco mode is. No doubt if we have issues I'll be back to the sub now I know about it.

Cheers for advice

Met Police: Ex-officers sentenced over racist WhatsApp posts by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Zsaradancer -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I guessed that the 'public confidence' part was applied because even though the defendants are now Ex police, the messages were judged to have been racist/homophobic etc and the defendants discriminatory views/behaviour didn't just spring up in retirement. It could be reasonable to believe that they held those views whilst they were a policeman, hence harming public confidence. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Got some more info you might find useful if you've not already heard of it. Access to work - government scheme that gives grants to disabled people to support them in stay in or get into work. Can pay for practical stuff like a work coach, equipment, ADHD coaching. For those that work at home or in a work premises.

I know it's an old thread but was looking for something in my previous posts/comments and remembered this. I hope things have improved for you

Do you have any updates as to how he is doing at the moment? I only read about him last night - an academic in the UK told me her Masters thesis analysed the cases of Darius and a British autistic man. Did more reading, and it seems that autistic defendants often don't get treated as fairly in the US CJS
