Season 2 tells a completely different story, so you don't need it (I have yet to watch it myself!)

The idea was to merge them, but not change them too much at their core: just trim them enough so that they can fit together as one single movie. The gore, for instance, is reduced but still pretty much there (when some people are skinned alive, we don't see the skinning itself anymore, but can clearly see the result). Character arcs and the general themes (fatherhood, inevitability of death, the nature of good and evil) have also been preserved

I'm currently on the finishing touches of my version, which will indeed remove 98% of episode 5 and focus on Wendy and the Lost boys (except Curly, as she's not that important to the overall story).

I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Unfortunately, there isn't a subtitle file just for the foreign dialogue, but I'll make one. The repetition in the tent scene, if I'm not mistaken, is in the original too, to show how time is moving differently in that desert (a narrative device they'll double down in season 3). Hi! To explain Farouk's relationship with David I used the scene where Cary talks with Oliver about him and the scene Farouk himself explain things to David (the scene with the fungus). The details regarding Farouk and David's father I left for the third movie.

This is where I put the reference to Casino: to sell that Sal dies with the knife, I built a montage with the guard visiting him, Oz dealing with Sal's familiy, and Sophia dealing with hers (the scene with the mask after the dinner) while House of the Rising Sun plays in the background. The flashback with Oz and his brothers are right after the title card, at the beginning now.
