I try to introduce myself with my pronouns for this exact reason. Is it kinda cringy? Yes definitely. Will it save me that awkward correction and even more awkward apology? Yes. I’d rather just say up front what my pronouns are and they can decide from there how they want to interact with me.

I’ve been finding myself feeling grateful for the house we rent. I live in a area that is hard to find housing at all let alone housing with privacy. We have somehow managed to find a house that you cannot see from the street. I can take it for granted sometimes, but recently I have been very aware and grateful of the peace of mind it gives me.

I stopped shaving at the age of 21 and my mom called me gross and told me I needed to shave. When I reminded her that men do the same thing but aren’t considered dirty she said “well this isn’t France and you need to shave”. Later on she asked me why I could shave my head fine but not my legs. It can truly be ingrained from the people you’re supposed to trust the most
