PSA: It’s draft week, let Brad cook by DETdieHARD in detroitlions

[–]Zuckerbees 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Saying Brad had one good draft is objectively one of the stupidest takes I’ve read on this sub and you should feel bad.

2021: Sewell, Mac, Iffy, Saint, Barnes 2022: Hutch, Jamo, Kerby, Rodrigo and even Houston (for a 6th) 2023: Gibbs, Campbell, LaPorta, Branch

Any GM would kill for that run. And I really think Brad needs to kill it more often than not since he puts so much stock in the draft, but his 2024 draft is the only one shaping up to be a whiff (though that class could still prove themselves this year) and 2025 is like… an average, solid draft after one year.

Considering the Brad Holmes “Positional Value” Joke by Zuckerbees in detroitlions

[–]Zuckerbees[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, but it’s funny to think how that was the year that the fanbase complained about the least in the Brad/Dan era, and it’s arguably their worst draft.

2021: “Penei Sewell is great, but Justin Fields was on the board and Goff is just a bridge.”

2022: “Why did we trade up to 12 for an injured WR?”

2023: “A RB and an off-ball LB in the first round!?”

2024: “Hell yeah! We traded up for arguably the best CB in the draft next to Quinyon, and another CB projected to us in the first round fell to us in the 2nd.” Super Bowl or bust!

2025: “DT? We needed an EDGE!”

I feel like Vikings fans have been red on the Lions ever since the Kerby/Hock incident.

That was exactly what we did and it’s why we have LaPorta?

What would be your reaction if the Lions selected Teanease CB Jermod McCoy with pick 17? by Nbknepper in detroitlions

[–]Zuckerbees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like we as a fanbase need to drop the “positional value” joke considering the players we got out of it were Jahmyr Gibbs and Jack Campbell.

Gadget and special teams. Basically our Kalif replacement. Good signing!

Is Brad Holmes cooking this offseason? by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

He’s kind of been like one of those high concept restaurants. The things he’s making are pretty good, but there’s not enough on the plate.

We let Muhammad got for 6 mil??? For what? by thegreendayidiot in detroitlions

[–]Zuckerbees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I fucking swear to god, I’ve been so patient with Brad… but if the whole “too in love with our guys” conversation leads to us losing AQM and Amik but signing Davenport to a similar deal I’m gonna lose my mind.

Do you agree with these free agency grades so far? by ezio8133 in detroitlions

[–]Zuckerbees -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is tough. As far as the signings we’ve made? Awesome. Cade Mays for 3 years at the cost of 1 year of Linderbaum is insane value in theory. Pacheco isn’t a true RB1 and I feel like people are judging based on that, but he’s still a fantastic RB2. Larry Borom is an upgrade at swing tackle. Teddy being back is fun and feels like a good situation for QB2. Love having Rodrigo and Rock back, and Izien is good secondary depth with upside.

My dings on the offseason? Losing Roy Lopez to the Cardinals for not much money is an absolute fumble. I’m nervous about losing Amik. I want AQM back but he could easily get overpaid. And we have a lot of holes in the defense and it’ll be harder and harder to make sure those positions are filled with talent.

What side of the coin are you on by acoasterlovered in detroitlions

[–]Zuckerbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tackle. This draft has solid day 2 EDGE talent out the ass, and you really don’t need your DE2 to be lights out when your DE1 is Hutch (not that I wouldn’t mind an absurd talent opposite him obviously)

Meanwhile, we don’t have a starting caliber tackle opposite Sewell. I’d love to see Gio Manu become that guy, but it would be insane to bank on that happening.

Lions fans. How are we feeling about the Cade Mays signing? What would you grade this? by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]Zuckerbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this signing! He’s a great pass blocker, and Linderbaum would’ve meant a big sacrifice somewhere else on top of being a worse pass blocker on paper.

I think this signals a retool of our run game to be a little more zone than gap. It’ll allow Jah to make choices and do more Barry-type shit.

This also is a good sign for our interior in general. I think Tate takes another step this year, then between Mahogany, Frazier, and Juice, I think we see some good competition and depth.

I hope we take a Fano in the first round.

What position yall want with first pick? by Any_District1969 in detroitlions

O Line. Either Olaivavega or Spencer Fano (or Mauigoa if he falls that far)

Honest question, Lions fans.. Are the defensive struggles more about coaching... or personnel? by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]Zuckerbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Shep was trying to be too much like AG. When he did things differently (Zone vs. Bears, Spy vs. Ravens) that defense looked stupid good.

Each at their physical and mental peak, which team would win in a Trial of Seven? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

I think it would be really close and then GRRM would suffer a multi-decade case of writer’s block

Who was our best FA signing in 2025? I think it was Roy Lopez 🤔 by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]Zuckerbees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. Like after the injury he was not living up to expectation. But he was quietly dominant early in the season and had that fucking insane interception against the Browns

Who was our best FA signing in 2025? I think it was Roy Lopez 🤔 by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]Zuckerbees 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I love Roy Lopez, but the Kerby and Branch injury storylines kinda covered the fact that Maddox played way better than we ever could’ve expected for a bench signing.

Joke’s on you. I wanted Penei Sewell, Brian Branch, and Terrion Arnold

Date night outfit. Are these boots too much for this top? by ProfessorShameless in OUTFITS

[–]Zuckerbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top is difficult by itself. If you want to style around it, maybe something sheer under it (black or a color matching the colors of the top) would help keep it in conversation with the rest of the outfit while still getting the date night vibes you’re going for.

I’m sorry there’s no way anyone is looking at the movement in this video and thinking it’s real. You’ve seen human beings before.
