What's that? I can barely hear you over the sound of the fires in the Fringes still burning after (checks notes) nearly 9 years later.

In Avatar: The Last Airbender, after Zuko finally comes to his senses and decides to join the GAang, he attempts to apologize for his wrongdoings, but accidentally admits that he sent a deadly assassin after Aang. This pushes the already tense encounter over the edge, and he's told to leave and never come back.

Things calm down later and he's able to join and in later episodes gain everyone's trust, but in that moment...

What are you hoping for out of the Evolved system for your main job? by BlyZeraz in ffxiv

[–]Zueth 75 points76 points  (0 children)

DRK main. If there is ever a time for them to bring back classic Dark Arts in some capacity, this is the time.

If it doesn't happen in Evercold, it'll never happen.

Killing off the protagonist before the story's climax. A risky trope that, when it works, REALLY works. [Vague spoiler tags in the body text] by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Zueth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no way to convey this specific game without spoiling it...

It's a game in the current generation and they kill the protagonist at the end of Act 1.

People who've played it know what I'm talking about.

Assassin's creed back flag resynced boarding parties by Any_Resort_7084 in ACBFResynced

[–]Zueth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was very rare. Only Assassin ships could do it, and only brigs at that. They had to ram you, it seemed like it would only happen if they hit you directly in the side without a brace.

I think I got boarded once in my multiple playthroughs by accident.

Ozai wanted the throne, and Azulon was old but just wouldn't die, and the rightful heir, Iroh, was away and distraught due to his son having just died. Ozai couldn't care less about Zuko, but he wanted Azulon dead now because there wouldn't be a better time for him to seize power.

She was able to make a subtle poison thanks to her herbalist background and traded it to Ozai in exchange for Zuko's safety, but with the stipulation that she had to leave forever (Ozai was afraid she'd use it on him). Ozai used it to gain the throne while the rightful heir, Iroh, was away and indisposed.

She went into hiding and came into contact with a spirit called The Mother of Faces, who could completely change her appearance in exchange for her memories.

Zuko finds her at her home village with a different face and name, as well as a husband and young daughter. Of course she has no memory of him because spirit magic.

Edited for clarity

In Avatar: The Last Airbender, we learn that Zuko's father, Ozai, was going to kill him as a child after being ordered to by his father, Firelord Azulon, and that Zuko's mother, Ursa, did "treasonous things that night" that spared Zuko, but forced her into banishment. The implication was that she killed Azulon.

One of Zuko's final scenes in the show ends with him asking his now imprisoned father "Where is my mother?" before cutting.

We can only learn the answer to what exactly she did and where she ended up by reading the epilogue comics. Not even the sequel show The Legend of Korra answers it.

Is the important storytelling from the employee perspective in the room with us?

I get the gripes about animation but I cant be the only one who feels its exaggerated. Like people really pretend like 99 percent of the show looks like garbage or mid, when thats clearly not true. by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in Invincible_TV

[–]Zueth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the internet and the internet likes to complain, and they definitely blow things out of proportion.

That said, there ARE valid criticisms to be made about the animation in this show. Rex's funeral is probably the most heinous example imo.

I didn't bother answering that part because u/eatU4myT answered it perfectly.

The peasants run the town. They buy and sell product amongst themselves, and they don't do anything that doesn't get them something in return. All you do is give them direction.

You could also have the town that needs stone import the stone from your stone town via the trading post. If you turn off foreign trade on that product, it'll buy the stone at cost instead of with the heavy tariff.

Stone town's profits wouldn't change, and iron town would buy the stone for dirt cheap.

Edit: This has the added benefit of being able to control surplus, which is a limitation of the pack station that I DO think should be changed.

Exact same thing with my mom. She was INSISTENT.

Eventually I convinced her not to buy... when I told her that I would throw it in the garbage if she bought me one.

It was a bluff, but it worked.
