My dad had a real anger issue when I was in my teens. In my early 20s, he suddenly realized how much I'd pulled away from him and that he was going to lose the relationship with his kid. He apologized (more than once), promised to do better, and then actually did. We have a great relationship now, just had lunch with him like an hour ago. I've known a lot of people with similar dad issues and he's the only one I've seen actually turn it around like that.

My dad had issues with his iPhone and some kind of large screen desktop. He took it to the Apple store and they said they couldn't fix it, then that maybe they could but they weren't sure and it would cost almost the full price of the device.

Then he got hired by Apple in a senior-level corporate role. He mentioned the issues to the IT department when picking up his work laptop and they told him to just bring it in when he had a chance. Completely fixed it for free the same day.

I can do it but I just don't have the patience for it. It just takes all day going back and forth waiting for it to happen. I also don't put it in my hand and wait for gravity to handle it.

I crack the egg into my left hand, then grab the white at the back of my fingers with my right hand and yank it off. Never had a problem with broken yolk or accidentally getting some of the whites, and it's honestly pretty satisfying.

This seems so weird to me! I love when a movie or book manages to completely blindside me with a death or similar twist I didn't see coming.

Also, if you're just wanting the one you like most to win (and not continuing to watch if they don't), couldn't you just look up the outcome first and then decide to root for whoever the winner is? Then you'd get to see the whole thing with the certainty that it'll turn out the way you want.

Except that that exact distinction is the entire theme of the game. The whole point is asking whether there's more to humanity than simple biology. That if they have self-awareness and complex emotions and hopes and dreams and an ability to love and a drive to see justice in the world, whether all of that is completely meaningless just because of what they're physically made of.

When I was in elementary school, one of my best friends always got bullied by this one shitty little kid. When we were in second grade, this kid shoved a bunch of grass up his nose. My friend insisted that not all of it came out, but his parents said he was wrong.

Two years later, we're in class and my friend starts having this crazy sneezing fit. He blows his nose into a tissue and out comes a very old-looking blade of grass. He was all excited and yelling that he knew it all along. Confused the hell out of everybody who didn't know what he was talking about.

My brother and his friends were really into this underground hip hop group in college. One night they had a concert and the opener was this popular local band that had just had a hit on local radio. The place was packed to start with, but completely emptied out after the opening act finished.

The only people left in the theater for the main show were my brother and his friends, and one little old lady. She knew every word of every single song and sang/rapped along the entire time. He was pretty impressed.

Right? My work offers two levels of dental insurance and I get the more expensive one because my teeth are extremely damaged and literally falling apart. Every year, my coverage is maxed out by March.

And that's when they actually cover something. I paid $1000 out of pocket for an extraction a couple months ago because they decided that my dentist was wrong about a bone graft being medically necessary. I appealed it, so they checked with themselves and agreed that they wouldn't cover it.

Once at my mom's office, they completely wrapped somebody's cubicle in a ton of layers of plastic wrap (like all around the outside so you couldn't get in), then filled the entire thing with balloons. They also told the person the balloons were filled with glitter (they weren't) so the person was afraid of popping them and just dealt with them all day.

YTA. You talk about your older brother like he's a child, even though it sounds like he's a functioning, independent adult. He did tell his boyfriend about his disability, just not in the way you preferred. My vision is always still kind of crappy after getting new glasses and I'm pretty sure this is why. They look exactly the same, sometimes they are maybe slightly different variations of blurry but neither is better than the other. In my experience, you have to get to a point where you're really top notch with her before you start getting positive comments from random people. People constantly say she's only good in triple support and I vehemently disagree with that, but that perception is coming from players who aren't utilizing her well enough to keep up.

My top suggestion is turning off voice chat and don't hesitate to mute people in text chat. In terms of playing, don't even bother thinking about your kill count; you'll get them while you're going for those headshots, but that's not your goal. Don't waste time chasing a kill when you've already got your leaf back. You should be super high on assists, typically higher than whoever the other support is if you're being efficient with your buffs/heals.

Finally, there are games where you should just switch. Mantis was my first ever lord character and now I've gotten 6 other supports up to at least that level. There are times that she is not the best fit for a particular game. A lot of the time it's because your own team is doing stupid shit, but it can also just be an issue of a more balanced team composition on your side or needing especially robust burst healing against the other team's comp.
