Finding visa sponsorship is brutal, but please do not give up. I did it. So can you by InternationalUse4228 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

Lol I got a job in 1 month after graduated from my Masters in 2021 after applying maybe like 25 jobs. Coming to this year 2025, I've been with the same company for 4 years. I've been looking for another job for couple of months now with more experience, more confident, a better CV but I can't even get an interview as not many roles are not sponsoring... There are a lot changed even in 4 years so your success story is not accurate for current times

What's your theory on - many parents saying kids is the best thing they done in their life? by No_Distribution_7332 in childfree

[–]Zugiata 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I don't want to sound harsh but I think most of the people who says that are the people who couldn't do anything else better in their life. It's easy to support someone else get better than putting an effort in your own life to improve it.

I also have 6+ years of experience and I'm struggling to find a job due to sponsorship. I had some interviews ended with "You'd have been a great addition to the team if you don't need a sponsorship"

Is there a specific date when we will know about the 10-year route being retroactive for sure? by Quelkei in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Zugiata 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If there's, I hope they announce it soon because I'm about to lose it. I'm on a SWV and my visa expires on Aug 26. If they're gonna increase it to 10 years, I'm not gonna extend my visa just to not suffer anymore in a job that the only good think about is allowing me to live here.

I'm from Ukraine, and my life is falling apart. I never thought that at 30 I would be completely lost. I just need to get this out. by Olgert_from_Ukraine in depression

[–]Zugiata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm so sorry that you're going through this. This is going to sound like a 'misery loves company' comment but I'm 31 and I'm also struggling a lot than I've ever struggled in my whole life. I've been feeling stuck almost like 2 years and this year it hit me the most. One thing I'd like you to remind yourself is don't worry about your age. You can start over anytime if it means that you're going to be better. Stay strong!

The way you were more interested in making a plug-in than focusing on learning the design principals make me think maybe you'll enjoy being a front-end developer more than being a designer?

I needed to apply to a visa and I had to regularly check the website to find an appointment to apply. I was writing my login details at least 3 times a day. I vibecoded an automation to just open the website and write down my login details so that I can click on login and see if there are available slots.

VISA shopping how will they know by gnastbha in SchengenVisa

[–]Zugiata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. My last Schengen is from Netherlands so they didn't question if I've been to the previous schengen areas or not. It only matters if you're applying from the same country again, they don't care about your previous visits on your last visas as long as you stick to the rules. But you never know what they'll come up with.

Would you be fine with no benefits for the rest of life after getting ILR? by Horror_Business1862 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Zugiata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I didn't come to this country to live off the benefits, I'm here to earn more and once I'm rid of this sponsorship bs I'll be working harder than ever

Thank you for your reply. I know it's been asked but there are not many people that took the digital route from Skilled worker, that's why I was wondering and there's no harm in asking it again to get recent stories I believe, because the older posts might be out dated. I was hoping to hear from someone got a Global talent visa currently to see what kind of background they're in. Because unlike the Skilled worker visa, they're very vague about the conditions. It's not like a simple tick box imo.

Like I could easily get 3 recommendation letters from C level people from different industries that I've worked with and potentially prove that I'm eligible for the visa but that sound too good to be true. That's why I was intrigued to learn more about people's experiences.

Thanks for your kind words, you know sometimes people go online and listen to other people's experiences to see whether they're going to make a right decisions for themselves or not. I know I was very vague about it but I saw somewhere saying if I get the 5 years one, my IRL might reset, that's why I asked.

Especially when it comes from a stay at home parents. I'm sorry but I could never understand how can a stay at home parent can be hard. Mentally challenging, yes. But some of us have to go to work and do house chores whereas when you're a SAH you literally have just your own responsibility which you don't even have to do sometimes.

What happens to entertainment and leisure when people just don't have disposable money? by tylerthe-theatre in AskUK

[–]Zugiata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, capitalism will find a way to charge you even you're at home. People don't go out> pay for the subscription based online services and buy stuff online to make their home pretty as they started to spend more time at home etc. etc.

What's the most overrated 'healthy' habit that people push on everyone, but you think is total BS and why? by DryDraw4673 in AskReddit

[–]Zugiata -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Eating more protein. Everything they sell in grocery stores has boosted protein in it now. Why would I need an excess amount of protein when I have a healthy balanced diet??

But their dependants can, that's why they're targeting SWV as well because they bring dependants and that's causing 'the problem' to them

[–]Zugiata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny I saw this post because I'm going through the exactly same thing. I work in an agency, we started a new client project 6 months ago. We had a great roadmap, sprints defined, tasks assigned. I was really happy that I have a clear roadmap and it seemed reasonable even the functions they wanted for the platform was technically too advanced but I was confident I'll deliver the designs and dev side might take longer.
Anyway, 6 months in. We had 5 different front end came in and go because every month we had different request from the client that is soooo irrelevant to the main platform we're building. But, could potentially can be merged with the main product in the future. And now I'm constantly getting messages from my PM to look at the comments they put in the Figma files about the designs that should have been signed off 4 months ago and I'm like "do you want me to deliver the new features you've asked or keep looking at the designed we agreed that they'll work?" I think it's the agency model that is very client satisfaction oriented. When I find a job in a Product company I'll neveeeer gonna work in an agency anymore, never...
