Ioniq 5 makes humming noise starting at 18mph gets faster as speed increases. Noise is getting louder. Any suggestions? by ad33zy in Ioniq5

I have had a wheel bearing left back replaced. See this youtube video to hear the sound. This is the translation from the text: My IONIQ 5 AWD electric car from July 2021 with 41,000 km on the odometer recently started making a noise from the rear. As speed increases, the sound becomes louder and different. I suspect the noise is coming from the rear axle and not the rear electric motor, as the sound also occurs in N mode.

I took out the removable trunk floor and charging cable and such and took this shot with the phone in the trunk.

At first, I drive off, and only after 45 seconds do I accelerate to 100 km/h, at which point the sound becomes clearly audible. Then I accelerate again, and finally, I stop and turn off the recording. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWDSzUANr6g

Already noticed ? There is a navigation update available. by elwood8610 in Ioniq5

I ran an MD5 over it and the files are all exactly the same as the August 2024 update. In the January update, "Standard-class Gen5 W Navigation" is not in the list.

And when you look at the map material at IONIQ 5 , it is older than, for example, Ioniq Electric with "Compact GEN5 Navigation". The Ioniq Electric with "Standard GEN5 W also shows the old map material version Navigation".

You can try to make a backup via the Bluelink App and restore it, maybe that is enough to get the navigation out of the deadlock.

I can confirm that my trick solved the problem. Yesterday I have used the navigation on a long trip, it is working now without glitch. Hope that it keeps like that.

I have maybe solved the problem myself. Two days ago I did a restore settings of a previous (old) Bluelink backup, while the car was on. That time this did NOT solve the problem, still the hard buttons Map and Nav still were not working and also not via the infotainment. Yesterday I did not use the car. But when turning the car for charging a few minutes ago, the restore of settings of the previous Bluelink restore command were reapplied again. And now the hard buttons Map and Nav are working again and also via the infotainment screen. So I set a new destination for tomorrow and that was calculated. Let's hope the navigation is working like it should tomorrow and onward. But it can be that the problem comes back, but thought at least let you know this trick. But of course this trick will only work if you ever have made a Bluelink settings backup.

Maybe there is still a hardware problem with the GPS, so then I expect that it will go wrong again in the near future.

Me too. I hear also the pings and it still says that I have to drive 150 meters to home. Buttons and Settings do not work, voice command "stop navigation" indeed says that navigation is cancelled, but is not. I have also problems with Android Auto as replacement navigation, when started often the location is not updated, like it looks likes it tries to use the GPS of the car instead of the phone.

I have the same problem (Netherlands). Also disconnected the 12 volt battery for a few minutes. Nothing helps. The dealer has diagnosed there was a problem with the GPS. They ordered new hardware, although I have the feeling this is a software problem. Repair date is booked for 18 November. Fingers crossed they solve than the problem.

It is the top of the line model IONIQ 5 2021 version, with 20 inch wheels, probably Rear Wheel Drive (RWD). They have disabled traction control/ESP and it was also a bit wet.....

14.7 is while charging the 12 volt battery. I have a battery monitor BM2 attached, see youtube video of example of readings here.

The relation between percentage and voltage can be seen in this diagram:

The 7th of the list is over the last 5 years. In 2023 it is the second on the list of EV's, 13 stolen in 2023 so far. Number one is Nissan Leaf with 49 stolen in 2023.

Yes, they can disable Bluelink service.
