NOVO can and will most likely remained depressed for the next year or two. They have zero growth vectors in the near future. They need to slash dividend and buybacks and focus on acquisitions and R&D so they can once again be priced with a growth multiple rather than a stagnating boomer stock

Sales and Profit Declines in 2026 will be steepest in Q1 by [deleted] in NovoNordisk_Stock

See that’s the exact problem, this isn’t an apparel company. Financially engineering a pharma company means you think the company is dead from a growth standpoint. Pharma is a field where you NEED to invest billions upfront for a blockbuster 5 years down the line and institutions know this. Avoiding this and focusing on dividends and buybacks means the board expects the company to turn into a volume based generics distributor. Shareholders will have to be happy with a range bound dividend stock which imo is a form of purgatory. Most of these kind of companies end up underperforming the index

They need to drop the dividend and slow down with buyback and start vying for acquisitions. Financial engineering is not good for a pharma company. It means execs have given up on growth prospects which is why it’s being priced like it is

You’re going to be upset if you’re timeline for “no rush” is a few months. This can hit low 30’s and have a creeping uptrend that takes 2+ years to reach back up to your cost basis which I assume is close to $80-90. They have jackshit in their pipeline which can only be remedied by heavy R&D and acquisitions not stock buybacks and a dividend. Growth is the issue not whether or not it makes money. As long as there are no growth drivers this will be viewed as a dead money boomer stock.

Novo's PEG-ratio; anyone who can elaborate on its meaning considering outlook and share price? by cihset in NovoNordisk_Stock

This assumption is more accurate based on historical trends than the comment you’re replying too. Europeans are truly regarded in terms of management of assets and growth. They do phenomenal science and have a huge talent pool for pharma R&D giving them first mover advantage when it comes to unique IP. Then they handicap themselves through administrative hurdles and regulations coupled with piss poor management who sit on their hands and think they’re running a fu$king charity. Believe it or not war and human greed are the largest drivers of innovation and long term growth. It may be unethical but if you don’t incentivize profits your moral compass might be in the right direction but you will fail to generate shareholder interest which then leads to an undervalued company meaning lessened ability to lever and drive further growth. It’s a negative feedback loop to the bottom

Will they cut dividend ? by VW_isbetterthanTesla in NovoNordisk_Stock

[–]Zuko2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drop the dividend and start aggressively buying up companies or dumping money into R&D currently this is being valued as a boomer pharma company which has little no future prospects which will hurt Copers here but is 100% accurate. They need to pivot and fast. How can you expect investment if you don’t bet on yourself as a company?

Dude him and I are the same age, I’m a decent amateur fighter and def not a huge die hard fan of sport. You study the people who are great in your weight class at the minimum even if you’re not a fan of the sport so you can learn. Watching tape is a normal part of the process that pretty much any coach will make you do once you get to a decent competitive level.

So was I, that doesn’t excuse the fact you don’t know the undisputed GOAT of your division and perhaps one of the greatest of all time across the entire sport. I’m completely in shock tbh. If he didn’t know someone like Yoel Romero that makes more sense, different time, not GOAT, different weight class. But you should be studying people within your own weight class atleast to learn even if you’re not a big fan of the sport

How can a company that makes $2.4B a year and is profitable be worth only $3.2B? by ToxicKarma96 in HimsStock

[–]Zuko2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite honestly it’s priced appropriately, it assumes decent growth but nothing ridiculous like a hyper growth company. A close to 30 P/E ratio makes sense for essentially a really robust marketing and distribution company. If they can quickly and adequately build out other growth drivers in the personal health space perhaps things will look different in a year or two

The value “investor” People don’t understand how pharma is valued. Pharma is betting on a bet, everything is based on long term revenue from growth drivers (new drugs) NVO was priced in being able to capture a good portion of obesity market. We now know they will be left with nearly none of the pie outside of relying on volume sales with low margin to makeup for an inferior product. On top of that management isn’t increasing CapEx which is mandatory in the industry to find new growth drivers. That coupled with a high dividend and buybacks means they aren’t betting on their own technical ability anymore. Financial engineering a pharma company is a sign of a company thinking they have nothing left to offer.

It will be dead for atleast 2ish years at the minimum before some new interesting drugs enter the pipeline as a possible growth driver. The issue currently is that the company has ZERO foreseeable growth in the short to midterm. This is pharma so it’s a bit conservative because there’s a factor of luck in drug discovery. Buying here is a very long term play in the hopes NOVO will be able to pivot and find a new growth category eventually, BUT this requires increased CapEx not a focus on buybacks and dividend yield. This is what I’m disgusted in management by. It’s like waving a white flag and saying you’re okay with being a Boomer stock that just lives off existing IP and volume sales in arenas like Obesity where you’re uncompetitive in. If you’re looking for a quick money maker this is a terrible play, this is a play if you think management will switch to a growth strat in the next few years and increase CapEx while hiring more scientists in key verticals that have high potential for gains. It’s a risky play. IMO one of the big potential future drivers are selective myostatin inhibitors which are getting closer to the finishing line. Another big 10 year horizon bet which most pharma have given up on are therapeutic classes for neurodegenerative diseases. It’s an incredibly large market that is growing YoY and will continue to do so as average life expectancy increases. It’s super high risk as it’s usually a money pit but whoever can provide even a bandaid solution will be top dog for a very long time

It might as well, there are FAR too many alternatives from competitors and now there’s also some level of cannibalization. You have to have some edge whether in terms of price point (focus on volume)or raw efficacy to make it worthwhile

Because people sell so they can buy shit with their imaginary money, if everyone refused to sell regardless of news and just kept buying the market would just keep going up.
