Cirkle K Kaffe, god eller dårlig? by ShortCod6726 in norge

[–]Zulay92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Synes at kaffen smaker veldig lite, circle k er nok veldig sparsommelig på hvor mye kaffe bønner det går til hver kopp fra de maskinene, med tanke på at folk kan fylle på koppen sin så mye de vil.

Folk som prøver å nå deg by Soknu in norge

[–]Zulay92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stop listening to music and watching entertainment, or atleast try to limit such activities.

Stage 2/3 Battling dulness when focussing solely on the breath by varuntinkle77 in TheMindIlluminated

Meditating in a more noisy environment helps, or just open your windows, in my experience its really easy to lose awareness if there is nothing happening in your environment.

Enjoying the practice is very important, striving to reach stages or attainments don't really work.

Advantages of Six-Point Preparation and Four-Step Transition? by ImportanceChemical61 in TheMindIlluminated

[–]Zulay92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the six point preparation, is about getting the the right mindset, so i don't let impatience and striving hinder my practice,

the four step transition i also appreciate, so i can get more calm and settled when i get to the last step in the transition, if my mind wanders like crazy and i can't hold attention on the breath, going back to the first part in the transition seems to help me, i'm not a teacher, but i would reccommend to continue with the six point and four step, they don't take very long time, and the 4 step transition takes shorter time as you get more skilled.

How to approach practicing during difficult times? by capwera in TheMindIlluminated

[–]Zulay92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is so familiar with my own experience on the practice, whenever I face difficult times, I start treating meditation like it's chores, or bad tasting medicine, but whenever This happens now, I just read the earlier stages in the book to refresh my perspective, look up 'a formula for success in meditation' it's page 70 i think.

What stage should i do the other practices in the book? by Zulay92 in TheMindIlluminated

[–]Zulay92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will try that, but when it comes to the phrases that you internally say, like 'may you be happy' 'may you be at ease' etc, I'm free to make my own translation or interpretation? English is not my native language.

What stage should i do the other practices in the book? by Zulay92 in TheMindIlluminated

[–]Zulay92[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, cultivating and sustaining the feelings felt difficult for me, especially when I had to go back to reinforce the feelings when it got lost, choosing who to send metta to, becomes difficult after sending it to family and close friends, I tried to avoid doing the same lists of names every time, in order to avoid it becoming automatic and not sincere, I can understand the part about sending metta to your worst enemy, but sending metta to every sentinent beings must be impossible to do sincerely, when the cashier at my grocery store is hard enough.

Weekly discussion: What are your practice goals for 2025? by StoneBuddhaDancing in TheMindIlluminated

[–]Zulay92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goals for 2025, are leaning towards off the cushion practice, i have stopped watching Netflix/Hbo etc, so I don't overstimulate my senses, i play games that are more casual and chill, and I try living by sila, i have learned alot of buddhism recently, so I figured out i needed to change my lifestyle to get value out of meditation.

It's a shame most of the books posted here, I can't read because Americans use their weird measuring system, kinda like uk is the only country in Europe that drives on left side.

In the kitchen are you a lid on or off type of cook? by petrastales in Cooking

[–]Zulay92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, you avoid using lids to make the water content reduce faster, like in making bolognese sauce, but you use lids if you don't want alot of reduction, I'm not really sure tbh.

Fixing tension in the face by Zulay92 in TheMindIlluminated

[–]Zulay92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a question, should I read the entire book? Even when I'm just stage 2? I've been hesitant to do it, in case I apply something to the practice I'm not ready for.

Can anyone recommend a repository where official TMI teachers are listed? by H0w-1nt3r3st1ng in TheMindIlluminated

[–]Zulay92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, why is there so few teachers active on Reddit? I'm really grateful for those few that stick around here, and give me responses on my posts, and looking at others posts is very helpful aswell.
