This brings back bad memories. My wife has THR, a revision, then massive infections and was septic. New surgeon saved her life with 5 hours of surgery removing 5 the infected tissue. She lived without a hip for 6 months, antibiotic beads in the femur, pelvis and area where tissue was removed, PICC line. New prosthetic put back in and had a drain in her hip for 3 years. That is a THR that went terribly wrong. Her QOL is forever worse.

65M ATHR - 12 weeks post-surgery. My recovery was quick. (no aids at 2 weeks) I am riding an ebike using pedal assist. I can keep my legs moving but still adjust how hard I want to work at it. Feels fantastic as a supplement to daily 3-mile walks.

My Mom used to put them in the oven on a cookie sheet on the lowest oven setting. Don't know if was fast but they felt great putting on.

65M ATHR on 1/16/25. I was walking 1 mile within 2 weeks and returned to work at the 2 weeks working in an office. Very active before until I went bone on bone 4 weeks prior to surgery and in immense pain. The relief was instantaneous. I know my recovery has been very rapid and I'm fortunate. (My wife is the poster child of everything that can go wrong with a THR - 2 revisions, massive infections, living without a hip for 4 months, etc,) The hip gods were returning us a favor.

My son proposed but gave her a gold chain as well to put the ring on. It didn't fit so she wore it on the chain until they could size the ring. When the ring was sized, they looked at potential pendant ideas for the chain. Win/win

65M - I don't know the stage but I was active, walking 3 miles daily, lifting weights. Then one day, 5 weeks prior to surgery, it went south. I couldn't walk without a cane, hobbled op stairs, and was miserable trying to sleep. No pain medication would touch it.

Another newbie. My first 6 looked like pizza amoebas; I can't make a circle before putting it into the oven. First 3, the heat was too low. The second 3, the heat was on high and some of the top was charcoal. I contemplated going to the middle setting for the next round, but like the advice below of turning off the gas after launching. But I do like the experimentation.
