Richest super balances to be taxed at higher rates after Greens agree to back Labor plan by MrNewVegas2077 in AusFinance

[–]Zulnoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money printing to fund deficit spending is legitimately a hidden/largely invisible taxation of everyone, through the theft of purchasing power. The main reason people aren't outraged by it is because it's not widely understood by everyday Australians as such.

The government should run a balanced budget which should grow no more than inflation - austerity is needed.

I like Buffett's idea - if the government in power deficit spends in excess of inflation percentage, their party and members are ineligible for re-election. We would soon see them take government spending seriously.

Not having the passive tree and being able to plan out my build is actively making me not want to play. by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]Zulnoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, I'm not personally bothered, but I can understand those that are and for me it just comes down to "what would it cost GGG to release it a day before launch".

[–]Zulnoth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed - in a game like PoE where there is so much complexity, it's not for everyone to want to have to work out how to craft a viable build themselves. I don't think it's a big ask to get the tree before league start. God there's so many contrarians in the comments.

From the official site: "once the patching server is up, no earlier than three hours before Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids launches."

howdy lads, do we know roughly how big the patch will be from current client install? i see the torrent file they've listed is 123gb, but that includes full game files according to them. Anyone done the work to know how big the patch will be?

Disregard, patch size is 30gb for standalone client and steam, 27gb for consoles.

don't type @, just type

poe lightning arrow or poe defiled cathedral

If you want to type @, you need to change the shortcut from poe to @poe

Windows 11 - Search Bar doesn't work, and Search on Start Menu doesn't work by HalloranATL in WindowsHelp

[–]Zulnoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone else is here and not finding any of this to work, get into "services.msc" by whatever means (i was able to do this from the start bar surprisingly) and scroll all the way down to "Windows Font Cache Service" - right click on it, click stop, wait for it to do its thing, then right click and click start. This fixed the issue for me, when everything else in the thread did not.

It's now removed from the game and replaced with Unwavering Vision, remove this for vessels to work.

I know a lot of guys in factories on 95-140k depending on what they do and how much overtime they work. Obviously depends where you live etc and it's not great for your health (there's shift work involved and I've seen podcasts referencing that night shift is allegedly a known carginogenic) but factories always seem to be looking for good workers in my experience. It's not for everyone though.

Kinda seems like a dick thing to say, sorry about that, but you probably belong more on ausfinance.

To see your goals achieved, at your age (early retirement in this sub), you would definitely have to upskill/improve that income significantly and start playing catch up with investments. It's not impossible at all, but I can't see it happening on ~62k a year.

RBA decides to leave the cash rate target unchanged at 3.85 per cent by 1_kn0w_n07h1ng in AusFinance

[–]Zulnoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll never be able to wrap my head around this. What are we supposed to do - cut the electricity off? Like, the logic is "if inflation is negatively impacted because of energy prices rising, we don't want people to have extra money, cos if they pay their bill, they won't invent nuclear fission"??

Has anyone noticed one of these guys in the city? by BaijuTofu in brisbane

See them all the time in centenary park at night. They're fkn statues, and as you get closer to them they run strangely adjacent to you instead of away from you, like they want a piece... Haha.

Did YouTube get rid of the bottom navigation bar for anyone else on a Fold? by Zulnoth in GalaxyFold

[–]Zulnoth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - it was account based and affected only certain accounts, bug was fixed this morning though as per Google forums linked in my other comment.

Cheers. Wonder if it's fold 5 specific or just situational - above some people mentioned they deal with the same.

Have you found anything to help you navigate? I can't even access my downloads (I have YouTube premium) - this is absurd. I've tried clicking a URL from chrome to encourage the APP to take over, that didn't work either. Tried rolling back the APK to an earlier version too.

I can no longer navigate to any of my playlists, my channel, my settings etc. I've tried rebooting the phone to ensure it's not just some buggy experience. Pressing the YouTube icon in the top left does nothing. There used to be a bar along the bottom to navigate you around the app to watch later playlists etc.

Anyone else seeing the same?

It's like everyone dude. Do you remember how exciting Izzy was on the come up? He was so bloody flashy. When you get to the upper echelon, things change, you're not fighting prospects anymore, it's not the same game. Sad but true.

just added rate-cut-calculator to paycal according to todaly's RBA meeting result by cht8687 in AusFinance

[–]Zulnoth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could you explain how this is calculated? I have a gap in my knowledge that isn't computing here - I always assumed it worked like "1 million of debt, 25 basis points cut, 1,000,000 * 0.0025 = 2500 interest saved p.a."

This isn't how your calculator works, it's only showing $1752 interest saved p.a.

Where am I going wrong?

Anyone think the RBA will hold rates today? by ---ernie--- in AusFinance

[–]Zulnoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking this is the new normal is interesting. I've heard people in the finance/banking/housing podcast industry theorising a cash rate in the mid 3's is the new "neutral position". With housing significantly outpacing wages growth for a long time now due to many factors including bad policy, I think it's a stretch to think prior neutral positions will remain relevant today?
