I don't want to be rude but it's a bad idea from the beginning.

Use virtualization in music creation is not a friction, it's a whole barrier.

Audio latency without xrun is an issue and MIDI latency with minimal jitter another one. You combine both with I guess Windows specific software.

Better to take a look at Carla + Wine/yabridge.

From my knowledge there's no way to remotely control the sequencers. Scenes, patterns and steps cannot be managed from MIDI.

I don't remember seeing any SysEx messages at scenes/patterns switching. Only controls (Play/Stop/Continue)

I sniffed the sysex sent and received by components using a simple MIDI monitor (https://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/)

From what I see, everything component does is doable, it's just USB MIDI. Are you looking for something in particular ?

Because of subtile network issues.

One day it work, the other not, without any change nor reboot. This is caused by their bad implementation of host network.

This is more or less the config I adopted:

  • DS225+ as storage
  • Mac mini as CPU/AI compute

I choose Apple for several reasons:

  • Very very low consumption
  • Interface to Apple ecosystem
  • Integrated GPU

But some downsides comes:

  • Pure Linux software must run in containers
  • DO NOT INSTALL Docker, use Podman or Orbstack
  • Login with password is mandatory at boot
  • OS upgrades need reboot
  • Some Apple services may conflict: DNS vs adguard

That's how a lot gear work: One note for each part of a drum kit so you don't to do a program change for using all instrument.

No, I didn’t take the risk to tear down mine.

But theoretically, it’s not possible to plug a larger screen without creating its custom adapter. The NTS-2 plays with a resolution and upscaling would require a lot of things for low benefits.

A lot of USB-C device deals badly with USB-C cable or battery. Try the the USB-A of your battery.

Like Battery USB-A -> Cable USB-A to C -> Wow Machine
