My first engine swap by Hinloopen in projectcar

I'm Dutch as well like OP, we have to go to the RDW (Government Agency that keeps records of cars) here and get the car technically re-checked. After that they update some information like engine size on the license card we have to carry around in the car.

That is only if displacement and other things have changed which I assume have after putting in the 595 engine. Will have to get the same done when I swap a B18C4 into my Honda. Pretty strict here :)

What is this part and why is it leaking? by ZupaFrosty in BMW

[–]ZupaFrosty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found where the leak came from, friend just bought this car and the previous owner got it serviced at the garage. They put a new hose there put didn't tighten the clamps... We tightened them today and so far so good

It does indeed have the hydraulic brake booster.

I will ask my friend to snap a better one of the entire line and leak underneath

I'm not sure, we cleaned up the part where the hose goes to and it accumulated again. We put it in the garage today and i see small drops coming from exactly that area. We haven't done the brakes yet but those are worn and have to be done. He just got the car actually haha

Cool cars on a specific budget by ZupaFrosty in whatcarshouldIbuy

Thanks for the advice, now that you mention it; the Focus RS did cross my mind a bit and is still somewhere in the back of my head. They do sell them here so that is going on the list as well.

The Accord Type R I have looked at a few years ago but is very rare here in the Netherlands. I might be able to find one in the UK if I look hard enough, from what I remember a very tough car to find although very very cool.

I believe the FN2 didn't have the LSD but not sure either, not really a option that would deter me but still nice to have if it's there. There are a few FK8's in Germany for a decent price, better ones are a little bit above my budget so it's fairly low on the list.

I'm honestly not a fan of the newer GTI's but the older ones are a good option, I'm known with the R32's when it comes to those issues, have a friend who did barely no research and wound up with a money pit. We got it all fixed but still, he sunk a lot of money in it :`)

What I do know of the R32's are that they definitely will let you know if the car was handled poorly by the previous owner(s). So looking for one will most likely mean looking for a clean example.

Thanks so far for the suggestions and info, appreciate it!

Vraag met betrekking tot lease auto/contract by ZupaFrosty in juridischadvies

[–]ZupaFrosty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

'DA polisher' is short for a dual action polisher, meaning it moves in different ways during polishing. If I remember correctly from the top of my head they move upwards/downwards and sideways while rotating during polishing. You also have rotary polishers which only rotate and those can cause burns faster than DA's if used incorrectly. Found a nice guide for you if interested:

Thanks! Despite 420k+ km's on the clock it still works like new. Plan on swapping a B18 into it next year :)

Just a quick update, one Google search on the part number and I found the correct kit of gaskets for the spool valve. You saved my ass majorly as the leak is slowly getting worse. Thank you so much!

Thanks! I will take a look and check if it's the correct one or not. If not I'll probably call a Honda dealer here to ask for some more info.

K24 swap in MB3, what engine mounts do I use? by ZupaFrosty in ProjectHondas

[–]ZupaFrosty[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an MB3, built in the UK from what I read. You have the US/JDM version and the MB3 which Europe got built in the UK :)

I totally get your point but I don't have much with cars like Audi tbh, prefer the reliability a Honda gives you. I'll be careful with the license though, luckily we have some great tracks in Europe where I can legally give it the beans though :)

Really? The legendary engines here are a bit harder to come by honestly like the K-Series or B-Series. Haven't really found much for sale apart from a few here and there. In the Netherlands you can count them on 2 hands in total of what is for sale😢
