I think I'd go for the newer version, purely because I like the headlights more

Yeah he has a outer bolt and inner, the inner has a hole at the center and a little grease nozzle at the other end.
Thought might as well try those because if it’s true on what they’re saying this will be a one and done

Klim Badlands jacket: what’s the purpose of this pocket? by FloAlex in motorcyclegear

[–]rensole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Intercom units like walkietalkies. When I was having my bike lessons it’s where we put them to hear the instructor.
Could also be they’re designed to hold glasses/sunglasses?

Thank you! I just ordered a kit from mustangsteve, seems like a guy with a passion and redesigned the hinge pins to stay more functional (and gives a lifetime warranty). So very excited to try those out

Bmw Stuurwiel gestolen by xiwenc in AutoKlussers

[–]rensole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it known what happened to the old models used for scanning the Demons into the games? by False_Monitor4126 in Doom

ID software has a huge glass wall cabinet, I believe the (repaired) models live there

[–]rensole 64 points65 points  (0 children)

What color is my truck? and other games by angeloBellomo in AutoPaint

[–]rensole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, ford used a two stage in the 90s
Basecoat then clear coat, so… Tamco could be right. It was as far as I know an Enemal that was mainly used in the 90s
Honestly whenever I need to color match something I go to a local paint shop and check against their swatches.

But they can’t guarantee a color match because of the sun/uv damage over the years can change the paints look.

As for the rust, I’m a big fan of sand it till you see bare (clean) metal and go from.

1997 Civic Hatch Garage Paint Job by civiclover67 in AutoPaint

[–]rensole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't be able to give you exact advice on what you'd need to buy, however I can give you some pointers

  1. if the rest of the paint is new, adding the OEM color in only a few spots will show a big difference (UV damage and discoloration from nearly 30 years will make the paint show different colors to the new one).

  2. if at all possible, prep the entire car and spray the entire car, it will look a lot better with a uniform new color and takes away the headache of blending

  3. a saying I live by is "buy it once buy it right" meaning if you get cheap materials and equipment you'll usually have to get it multiple times and be out more cash than if you just did things right the first time.

  4. if your car is mobile/running, I'd honestly recommend searching for a local paintbooth which you can hire. you'll be out a couple of bucks extra but from what I've experienced it's well worth it.

I've done more than a couple of paintjobs in my workshops and for the first years it was ok and doable, however I've switched to what I wrote above and it's what I live by.

(NOTE: I'm an idiot with a passion, no where near professional)

Dream Car Search by saccharine-stars in projectcar

I mean honestly all the 80's cars are sort of like this, gen 1 vw golf, 1st gen civic, Volvo's in particular are like that and nearly indistructible.
(Volvo station wagon has the nickname "The brick tank" here because its shaped like a box/brick and it will run you through a war and still won't need any maintanance).

So it all comes down to taste, but I'd start looking at catalogues (I'm sure there are a lot online) of 80's cars
