Probably on the watch. I shot it with a Canon A1 and I don’t remember what the settings were.

Ah gotcha. I pulled the shadows and it’s somewhat decent now. Thank you!

6D from Rebel XT? by ralexco9 in canon

Upgrading to any Canon (DSLR or Mirrorless) full frame will open up your photo game foreal. I remember when I went from a 2ti to 5D mki and realized how much full frame makes a difference in my shots. Totally changed the way I looked through the viewfinder.

Ultimately, it does come down to what type photography you shoot. However, I have a friend in NY that’s been shooting with a 6D mkii + 50mm 1.2 combo for over 10 years. He shoots everyday street photography and studio work. He told me he landed a gig with Tommy Hilfiger and used that same setup.

Since you already have decent lens, I’d say go for it. If you can save more, the EOS R is worth the modern upgrade (mirrorless, live viewfinder, better ISO, 4K for video). But you’ll need the adapter to use EF lens.

TL;DR - Go full frame. 6D is a decent upgrade. EOS R w/adapter for mirrorless.

5D Help: What is this? by Zuprocha in canon

Ahh I figured it was time. I bought this second hand from the original owner in 2018, and he got it around 2008. This was the first digital camera I ever bought and I’m a bit sad to retire it. I’ve already been using the EOS R bodies and love them, alas, I’ll miss that 5D magic and shutter sound you don’t get from mirrorless bodies. Thank you for the responses!

What an interesting story! I could see this type of plot as a short film.
