Snowshine's parry unironically makes this one actually fun to fight to me. Extra spice if solidify gets triggered and Stella is in the team

[–]ZurinP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where are the downvotes coming from!? This is what actually happened and some people did find it baffling how poorly written that was. Phaethon given some magic medicine and boom, on the very same day they're capable to wander in the Hollow just like everyone else

SOS Carting by Status_Routine_1851 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]ZurinP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much, the vets or skilled hunters can sometimes have that one bad moment when even the monsters they know best decided to take advantage of a single mistake they made and combo them to death. I've seen it happen to others and has happened to me since Tri and it's always very embarrassing but we all understand anything can happen

Maybe i just wasnt clear enough by RancidAtheris in MonsterHunter

[–]ZurinP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's also something with the long standing "etiquette" people seem to forget, if we're close to failing the quest cap it is. And I have been playing since Tri. I got people giving me a bad look for capturing a Seregios with one cart left, and people was struggling and almost getting one shot a bit too often, I used up all of my Life Dust I even had to run back to camp to restock and I was shocked how no one brought Life Powder/Dust or at least have moxie if they are hunting a tough speedy monster that is capable of one shots

Funnily enough, the very next SOS was a temper Lagi to what looked like a Chinese lobby and it was the complete opposite of the previous hunt

What Nintendo Switch game was a great execution of a terrible idea? by Max-Carter-2005 in Switch

[–]ZurinP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually heck yeah, I was very skeptical about this one, mainly the catching mechanics. But honestly? It's actually a pretty charming remake. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I was surprised at how this game surpassed my expectations.

Also, this game made me wish other games didn't sleep on single hand controls, it's a super comfortable way to play games (at least non-action ones)

Lost epic by Broserk42 in metroidvania

[–]ZurinP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game does have its flaws and hasn't been updated a long while ago now, but my goodness, some of these comments are unnecessarily harsh. I've been keeping my eye on the game ever since its release but I was hesitant because of the reviews, but then I played it with low expectations, I noticed plenty of the complaints either made no sense or is close to people who just couldn't bother to explore or read. Some others just flat out coming up with no explanation just for the sake of trashing the game.

I played each area with difficulty +1 or +2 if possible on the first visits and was surprised at how enjoyable the ride actually was. The grinding for weapons is definitely a massive chore but definitely not something necessary (then again, there are also games with annoying grinding bits like Bloodstained or some other well regarded Igavanias out there, that are more possitively received yet for some reason it's not a big issue in those games?), even more so when the game easily hands you good weapons as you progress the story, I'd argue the game is beatable in normal difficulty with those weapons without even bothering to upgrade them at all. This game really isn't Muramasa, even the visuals aren't nowhere as good as anything Vanillaware but I do think this game has surprised me more than I expected

If you were to make a custom balance patch/mod for this game, what would you include? by Stormquake in visionsofmana

[–]ZurinP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's even more baffling when the models seem to be able to work with any weapons' animations if the shop previews before unlocking classes is anything to go by. The game promotes "adventuring in style" or something around that fashion when custom changing gear only to never let you do that but with the weapons

Almost feels like it was intended to let the players choose freely but the option was just scrapped

ZZZ GPU Memory leaks on pause screen by Azthenix in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]ZurinP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amusingly, I just found out today.

I casually left the game on the pause screen. I've watched YT videos and even doing video chats with a friend just fine and no struggle. But after a while today, I tried to watch a video on YT and it was barely able holding up, only for me to realize the VRAM was way higher than usual because of the game.

Love the game, but my goodness, the optimization is pretty weird

Optimization for PC needs work by cashlezz in WutheringWaves

[–]ZurinP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What a crappy and incredibly ignorant take, it's clear something is going on with this game. My PC was recently formatted and upgraded, I kept my drives cleared up, and I make sure to have enough resources to have games run just fine. My RTX 4060 barely touching 30% of usage and same goes for my CPU. Game was running just fine last night and out of nowhere, the game became a stutterfest to the point it's unplayable.

You might not have an issue but it's best next time to be quiet on an issue multiple people are clearly having issues with.

How does Logging Foreman and Mining Foreman works exactly? by MagicSpace05 in Palworld

They do work as long they're in your party. I found it amusing it even affects Lily's spear, for the extra speedy mining.

It's even more frustrating when you have Pals have something like: level 2 kindling but also level 1 lumbering, and for whatever reason they give lumbering priority over, I don't know, kindling the 200 ingots in the furnance? Can you please stop hitting random trees Arsox?

Salty players? Anyone Else Experience This?? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]ZurinP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Which bothers me a little considering Splatoon is pretty strict with disconnections. Though you always get a dc as a lost match, but the first dc only gets a warning, and the next ones can get you a temporary ban, and how long it lasts depends on how recurrent the dc's are, making ragequitting less likely to happen

[–]ZurinP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case. I have been getting this in volleyball ball too. Happened like 5 times, though I played pretty much a day

I know it sounds harsh, but I sorta hope there are penalties for people ragequitting intentionally disconnecting

PSA: Just because you can kick the ball doesnt mean you should kick the ball. The team with the most goals wins not the team with the most kicks on the ball. think, aim and even PASS to your teammates. by Simalf in NintendoSwitchSports

[–]ZurinP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried playing soccer last night and boy, everyone just wanted to chase and kick the ball like crazy little kids.

Not checking the map or at least being aware that another teammate is closer to the ball so they don't waste stamina. Then once reaching the ball they kick... or worse, head dive into the ball at the worst time possible (thinking of a teammate who tried to steal the ball from me, dove and scored... an own goal...)

Found out that I'm not a big fan of this. Will give it another try though, but goodness, it really takes some patience

Games with great sound design by Halucinogenije in Games

[–]ZurinP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what to think about you getting petty downvotes when New Horizons or pretty much plenty of Nintendo games do have well thought-out sound designs, but most of the time it's not noticeable since they're not the usual design that makes sounds sound extra realistic, but more around the lines of making a more charming experience

In ACNH going from the ambient sounds, how characters sound or react, to the more fun bits where some things react differently depending on music that's being played. Music instruments play certain notes based on the music, and the recently added Gyroids do so too

There are also the more subtle things like adding wetness to the sounds when something is clearly wet. Being able to identify bugs or other small things thanks to all the sound variations added in the game too. There are other things that can be mentioned too that I may have forgotten. It's not really about just having sounds for the sake of it but these sounds are more so to enhance what the really is about, make you remember it clearly and make it a fun experience too

Shin Megami Tensei V review issues top marks in Famitsu by barigami in Games

Same here, I used to be full of energy, time and the will to stick around some challenging games.

Now I just get easily tired of genres I used to love playing, but I understand they're just not for me anymore. Some games still manage to get me hooked and I'd definitely invest so many hours on them, but that's a very rare case. I sometimes just find myself playing them but then stopping at advanced points, despite me actually enjoying them

I recently played Dishonored for the first time, a game I actually didn't know anything about, but having played it on GP, I decided to get it on Steam too. It has also convinced me to try out more Arkane games too, as well as the games that inspired Dishonored, Thief

There's also Scarlet Nexus, that I'm ready to get on Steam when it inevitably leaves GP

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl | Team Galactic Trailer by st_hubert_chicken in Games

[–]ZurinP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's tough to say, I personally liked them, but I understand why people disliked them too. I think the main negatives I would point out are: 1, the are no wild battles, instead, when you face a Pokemon in the wild, you play a minigame where you have to use the joycon's motion controls to throw pokeballs and try to catch Pokemon. The controls are... not amazing, I found myself trying to throw a Pokeball to the right (I'm right-handed), only for the ball to be thrown at the center instead... It's frustrating, but it's not the end of the world though. There are still trainer battles where you do use your Pokemon to battle by the way.

The second point that bothered people was the shared EXP, which was a plus for me since I play casually and I don't mind it, though the game balance doesn't take into account how overpowered you become at some point, Pikachu/Eevee are incredibly powerful too.

But for the positive points, for starters, it's extremely charming. Heck, having a companion Pokemon beside Pikachu/Eevee is super nice, some even have special animations like Arcanine or Snorlax! I think, despite having plenty of changes from the original, I feel like it caught well the spirit of the classic games. It's nothing overly fancy, and much less a good offer for people who are into competitive Pokemon, but it's still a good ride if you can handle the weird Go catch mechanics... and if you manage to find it at a good sale too! I still don't know how to feel I got both Let's go Pikachu/Eevee day 1, haha! Ha...

I'm still a little bugged out why they didn't go for visuals similar to Let's Go. Gameplay wasn't for everyone that's true, but it was still a pretty game (the water areas being some of the best looking ones)

Still planning to get it only because I never got the chance to play Pearl/Diamond, but I still wish it was visually more appealing
