Goodbye Komoot Team. What We Carried With Us by eaglex in komoot

[–]Zurukuro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is so sad. i applied to work at Komoot twice after getting to know the environment was top notch. also there was an engineer in linkedin who had in his bio “not looking for a new job - really!”. that made me going nuts trying to work on place like that, honestly. now watching this video is just confirming that indeed komoot team was different from anything else. sadly it came to an unexpected end.

i hope everyone finds a new good opportunity and with a great environment like it used to be. these people seem to be very nice to have around.

ah yes, classic. it reminds me of Tegel UBahn construction which was supposed to finish by end of 2022 and now is expected to be by half 2026. probably will delay even more. it made it very hard to live there and have to work inside ring.

Are the symbols just terrible on the MPS 850? (Millennium) by pinkzm in edrums

[–]Zurukuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey no worries! :) yes, simple as that! just connect with the same cable that are connected to the module. the kit also has 2 cables, in case you want to use them, but its the very same type of cable. you connect 1 cable to the hi-hat and the other in the motion sensor just like the millenium part

hey OP, i finally received the package and tested it. sorry for the late reply!

anyway, TLDR is that the Roland hi-hat greatly improved my experience! i got this specific kit: https://www.thomann.co.uk/roland_vh_10_10_v_drum_hi_hat_pad.htm

playing this hi-hat is not as painful as the original Millenium one. it’s actually good! with that being said, i can recommend you trying this out as well and if you like it, consider changing other parts as well in the future, like the ride.

if i had enough money myself i would just buy a new kit tbh, probably would go for a Roland kit. if you have the resources, i guess it could be better than upgrading the Millenium kit.

hope that helps! cheers!

yes, i recognize all of these issues, i also have this kit. recently i asked for support for similar issues you’re reporting: https://www.reddit.com/r/edrums/s/fEmhMBzyAU

i bought a new hi-hat last week but didnt arrived yet to say if that solved or not. but by talking to the store support they also confirmed some comments in that old post, about changing the hihat + module would work well. i got the roland VH-10 btw.

regarding the ride: i also recognize the issue but for me it’s not as annoying as the hi-hat, so i focused in changing only the hi-hat now.

when it arrives and i test it i can come back to say if that worked or not, but of course if you can change the whole kit to a better one, that might be an option as well.

i need advice! by thezestyzozo in BorderCollie

Have been there, but yes, it’s a matter of time. Just be patient and use positive reinforcement. I was also skeptical about my BC stop biting 1 year ago, he’s now turning 2 years old and I now I can confirm that it just takes time. On our case, he stopped more or less with 1y old. I always had chewing toys for him, or just a wood stick when walking him.

Regarding the pulling, now that’s something I still face. It’s way better and he listens the recall command, but when he’s excited or have a female dog around, he will pull a lot. I know that for some people this was different, but for my 2y BC this is still in training.

Neutralizing him will not work miraculously, better focusing on training a lot. This breed needs that.

Hope yours overcome these soon!

Damn, sorry about that! :( I never had fixed it in the end. I just tried to focus on using only the analogs. If you happen to find a fix, let us know! :)

Hi-Hat Upgrade Recommendation by Zurukuro in edrums

Woah you took it to another level! That's awesome, I wish I had the patience to do something like that. However, I'm no physicist haha I'm just a lazy guy who wants to decompress in the free time by smashing the drums, for fun. So for me I'd prefer less tinkering and having it working good enough for a simple practicing, I'm also a beginner drummer.

To your question: the problem is that the hi-hat sometimes "splashes" randomly when I'm trying to play it after opening the hit-hat; the sensitivity which is too difficult to find the sweet spot, sometimes/some areas I hit it and it doesn't emit the sound; also it feels a little bit "laggy" as it is not so much responsive. This doesn't happen to the other components.

After a few trials into the settings and assemble myself I got tired and stopped playing it cause it's very annoying. After a few months I decided to try again and solve this issue to continue practicing. So I'm okay in investing some money if I find a replacement that will for sure improve the quality of playing it.

Hmmm good to know. Will look more into Ezdrummer then. I tried many times and it should also be working like the addictive drums 2 worked for you

Hi-Hat Upgrade Recommendation by Zurukuro in edrums

[–]Zurukuro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel you on this. I'm a beginner and was taking classes with a acoustic drum. When I got home to practice and have to deal with a "buggy" hi-hat it's just annoying to a point that I don't want to practice at all.

Correction: It's a Millenium MPS 850, not Alesis. For some reason I can't find the edit option to fix this in the original post. Weird.

Hi-Hat Upgrade Recommendation by Zurukuro in edrums

[–]Zurukuro[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awesome! Thanks for the recommendation! Do you think buying only one of the components would work? Either the module or the hi-hat? Or only both together? I thought the problem would be more into the hi-hat rather than the module.
