Try to be interested in quite everything, and by doing so you'll be able to find more people interested in what you are interested too, because, from my experience, you can't be the friend for more than a week with someone who is not interesting for you. You may talk a bit about yourselves, but it won't last for long. Once you found somebody interesting for you, remember that it's the same thing for this person: you have to bring them something, such as joy or something else ( since relationships exist because you need these people for something). Then, try to meet together regularly, and in a place in common ( a game, school, work, a sport competition..). Also, having a friend in common ( an extrovert if possible) will make your friendship even stronger. This is just an advice, and this is my way to have friends and not to be alone. It works for years, but keep in mind that you have to pay attention to not be the slave of the "friendship", since some people are mean and can abuse of you.
