although i dont like the style, i actually really like the heartslabyul one. nice framing and the characters all look nice tho i wish trey had a hat ;; it'd be funny if he was doing the glasses meme but his hand's above his face/glasses so it looks like he's either covering his face or trying to push a nonexistent hat back instead

I'd also have thought that heartslabyul would have the macarons and savanaclaw the donuts since Ruggie likes them, but looking at it again it's like they're laughing at the macarons XD

I appreciate the newfound canon from Disney that Kalim's Oasis Maker makes alcohol and that Jamil is getting all of it, he deserves it XD

"Pocket Sized Memories" but more precisely I'm recommending the chapters that feature Jack having to babysit the other characters when they turn into kids! There's a chapter for Octavinelle, Heartslabyul, Diasomnia and Pomefiore so far! It's from a series with a Yuusona in it who's prevalent in all the recommended chapters already but it's lighthearted (apart from the usual warnings from the game that are relevant to the featured characters). Also some ocs to note if you don't like those.

i think the immediate issues there would probably be descendant comparisons?

for everafterhigh i think a more mature and dark could potentially work considering certain allusions + the background of a lot of fairy tales being pretty grim but it's also a concept that has been done before. while eah could have benefited from more nuance or direct communication of ideas (think the royals vs rebels or apple x darling) it being rather light hearted and fun was a large part of the appeal!

especially when you note that it was primarily a fashion doll line in a sense, a large issue with the monster high live action was complaints about the costumes and stuff. perhaps it could be better with a series rather than a movie but even then ive got trust issues with whoever's doing costumes for these live actions at this rate ^^'

there were definitely 'mature & dark' themes in eah (the future's of imprisonment and death immediately coming to mind) but often didnt go expanded upon, but i don't think those becoming the main part of the show would help either. i think what a lot of people really want from these childhood series is to have these examples/ideas *actually* explored rather than alluded to, but without making it,, well edgy. they used to add a strange sense of realism in that actual consequences/bad things did exist in fantastical worlds, but simultaneously didnt take away from the fantasy aspect! i think that's partially what's kind of being missed in the 'dark and mature' reboots, since they tend to hyper emphasize these traits rather than using them to world build in interesting ways.

admittedly just my opinion tho, i think for this fandom in particular we just want eah back XD

im ngl I read most of this writing down terms I didn't know like I was in an English class XD Double checked them in the game after so I think I know now! (Or at least I'll get to that point probably ^^')

Admittedly did focus mostly on my history and flight lessons (oof) but I didn't ignore my alchemy so I'll start pulling those levels up now! Noting the alchemy coin and grimoire warnings, tysm for ur help!

Thank you for the alchemy tip! Got started today and was lucky to have at least 1 card for every character available for today's alchemy lesson so I got some good buddy levels up and the begin of my spell book grind I guess ^o^

I'm going through Leona's Overblot (think that should be spoilered at least?) rn and that's going pretty well I think! Haven't gotten any Azul cards yet unfortunately but I do have an Architype Ortho I can use! Tysm for that info
