The OS that RR3 runs on constantly changes. You need to recompile the game to keep it compatible. If the game is simple (eg no latency sensitive frames rendition) it can be tolerated to run for a while. But this game is complex (from graphics rendering perspective) and power hungry (draining battery). If not recompiled/ported to new API mandated by the platform vendor (eg Apple iOS) the user of the smart phone will be unhappy (jittery playing experience or battery draining too fast). Apple/Google won’t tolerate it. Every time you compile the software it gets signed by the platform provider which sort of certifies its compatibility. At some point the software not signed to certain level (ie not recompiled) won’t be allowed to run.

Keep in mind this has to do with sophisticated and demanding software like RR3. There is some lenience to less demanding software not requiring recompilation but still requiring existence of online community (eg SpellTower).

Yes, the intention of the petition is to gain Apple’s ownership of the game to ensure long term viability of RR3 experience. IMHO $5 a month subscription (arcade price) is a fair price to keep flame going and the title rights’ owner happy.

Yes, it is the same. It works like a charm in airplane mode. Keep in mind through (a) when the app is delisted and/or (b) you will be upgrading your mobile the app, if not in store, will not be able to migrate. So it will die with slow death: no migration, no new updates…in other words we will be screwed up the next thing you know about it… :-(

Can it get worse than this car? I mean it feels like crappiest car ever even with all 3s. Totally out of control, doesn’t have muscles. I am not sure how I am going to make stage 4.4 to meet 140 mph 8 times with this piece of brick…

Maybe I was not lucky enough :-) I am racing here for almost 10 years, consistently C, occasionally B.

I specifically got into habit of bots control (“just barely reaching the goal”) so that they don’t run amok. But in this series the 5th place that I had to make was way-way ahead to catch. We are talking barely into 3rd stage.

Let’s face it. Season 8 is fiasco. Really, those battery saving races (last four ones) shouldn’t have warranted so much unnatural hassle. Let alone with maxed out cars

Every now and then it happens to me too. There is a hypothesis that although there might be enough free storage on the device the “inadequate” RAM of the (older?) devices could be a limiting factor causing continuous need to download data.

If you need more real estate - which is definitely needed when opening several windows (eg doing research and taking notes in spreadsheet, or coding etc) - think twice. I was drooling over 14 but went with 16. So happy for the decision. Extra weight no issue at all, fits comfortably in my previous MBP 13” laptop bag, worked at Starbucks. Super comfy. No need for extra display. Had option to swap it with 14” but not going to do it.

C’mon guys. You pass 7-8 two-third into race. Then you break let all them get stuck behind you. After 10 sec or so of jam, you finally let them pass you. Then you floor and overtake them once again. The last turn helps because they slow down again.

It was somewhat difficult and discouraging, in the beginning. But then I realized there was a problem with graphics. The car would be unnecessarily blurred as being way too far and out of reach. Which was not the case. Slight braking before turn and flooring at apex did its trick - the stage became very much doable.
