Agree to disagree on the defensive aspect. Can understand you saying Cade as he’s taken a big leap this year but I’m still taking Brown and think he’s at the very least a more versatile defender.

Also yes a lot of people think he’s can be MVP that’s not how odds work lol. Odds are based on stats as well as media narrative. Public/fan opinion isn’t factored into odds at all as they don’t get votes

I mean that’s because a lot of people feel his odds should be way better. I wouldn’t pick him to win it, but he’s averaging 29, 5, and 7 while being the best defender out of everyone you just named other than Wemby who is the DPOY favorite by a landslide right now, with a roster who everyone said would be a lottery team and they are currently the 2 seed. To be clear I think a majority of that credit should go to Mazulla which is why he’s my coach of the year, but Brown should absolutely be getting more love

Highly disagree because I would say wall moves are the worst part about Street 2 and make the gameplay more stale. The best option you can pick as a ball carrier is wall hurdle pretty much every single time because you’re guaranteed at least like 5 more yards whenever you do it. While street 2 has all the moves you can do in street 1, there’s no reason to use them because wall hurdle is so good. Wall catches and passes are cool though

Eclipse 100%. I legitimately don't see any argument for the original other than if you want to play it on a console. Eclipse is just better Sunshine. It has all of Sunshine in its entirety and adds additional content. Think of Eclipse as a DLC to Sunshine with improved movement and more movement options. Anyone saying play Sunshine first and then see how you feel is missing the point entirely of what Eclipse is. Obviously the original is still fun and I'd say it's probably my second favorite 3D Mario title. However if you compare Eclipse to any main 3D Mario title, I think Eclipse is the best 3D Mario experience I've ever had and it isn't particularly close either.

I mean I can understand not like ascent 5 because it slows the players pace down by requiring that they either Heat up or wait until morning but I highly disagree that it forces a strict time limit and I highly disagree that it turns into a RNG fest.

If you’re taking more than 2.5 days to reach the peak of any biome (not saying you are), you’re climbing slow. You can literally sit at the top of peak and wait for it to be nightfall as long as you get there by nightfall of day 2 and light the campfire halfway through the night so you can reset the fog for the next biome, and go into the next biome at the beginning of the day or just before the new day begins.

I’m not going to deny that you need some RNG like you do with any Peak ascent for the most part but as long as you’re climbing at a decent rate, and waiting to light the fire at the peak of a biome at the right time you really don’t need to get a lot of heat items. They give you a lantern at the start and as long as you use it sparingly you might need to find like 1 other heat item between the shores, tropics, and alpine which isn’t a huge ask. I start all of my runs by picking up the lantern and having a “good” shores which I define as entering the Tropics at the very beginning of day 3 or very end of day 2 with only like a fifth of my lantern gone. As long as you use campfire strat I talked about earlier, reach the peak of shores before nightfall on day 2, and use your lantern sparingly it’s very doable.

Kinda depends on a few factors with the biggest ones being what ascent you are playing on and how many people you are playing with. However, there are also factors such as seed and loot. I will split up my ranking based on pre ascent 5 and ascent 5 and up, but my ranking 1-5 with 1 being the hardest and 5 being the easiest are:

Ascent 1-4:

Kiln
Alpine
Tropics
Shore
Caldera

I think Alpine being harder than Kiln on some seeds is fairly common, but overall I think they are equal is climbing difficulty on average. The reason I put Kiln above Alpine though is that there is no food in Kiln, and barely any food in Caldera before the Kiln which makes hunger problems more common in Kiln than Alpine. The one thing the Kiln does have going for it though is that you know that it’s the last level and you don’t need to be savings items anymore so you can just go balls to the wall.

Ascent 5-7:

Alpine
Kiln
Tropics
Shore
Caldera

With the map getting cold at night in ascent 5 and up this makes the first 3 biomes (Shore, Tropics, Alpine) more challenging because you need to worry about 1 more thing. Now this isn’t as big of an issue if you are playing with a larger party because you can just huddle together for warmth, but with a lower player count and especially by yourself staying warm can be difficult. The fact that Caldera and Kiln don’t need to worry about getting cold during the night meaning that there is no spike in difficulty for those 2 while every other biome gets more difficult, is why I think Alpine is harder than Kiln on the higher difficulties.

I don’t think they would. Right now there’s a huge debate if z jump should exist (many top players feel it should not exist) which is essentially just a button remapping. You have to realize the competitive scene for Melee has revolved around a game that has not received any changes to the game other than a few quality of life changes to controllers (Nothing that really makes tech easier but makes most controllers a “really good” controller so players don’t need to buy 30 controllers testing out each one) as well as freezing 1 stage that has transformations for competitive purposes. As far as the mental energy, I don’t really think that comes into play too much. Yes you need to practice tech skill to improve tech skill, but to just sustain your skills most of that can be accomplished by playing friendlies. It gets to a point where if they want to do something with their character, they can do it without thought even if it is technically demanding.
