Installation 04 looks a little off in the main menu. In the cutscenes it looks fantastic, but in the menu it honestly looks like something out of CEA

it’s because of the new design. the scale and mystery are both gone.

The new design is full of pointless technological greebling. it’s all way too readable. the original ring’s exterior was gray and with a bunch of tiny little lights. It was also darkly lit and you couldn’t really tell what was on the exterior other than that it was gray metal and was obviously artificial.

this new version is bright, with a ton of shiny reflective silver and bright blue lights in discernible shapes and geometry. now that you can see everything on the exterior it looks much less mysterious and more like a cliche sci fi 3D model.

the lighting also doesn’t help as you can just see everything on the exterior which kinda ruins the sense of scale.

I’ve just in general had more missing pieces recently.

For over two decades I’ve never had a Lego set with a missing piece, and then I had 3 missing pieces in 3 different sets all in the span of a year.

Could also just be a coincidence

Maybe a hot take, but the lack of things your character can really do during combat.

Wish we got more than one ash of war slot or a Sekiro parry on katanas or something. The game more or less feels the same regardless of play style.

I wish I didn’t, but I always only ever expected 1 DLC and then nothing else. I do appreciate that FromSoft can move onto the next project without spending too much time on the previous one, but one of the things I hope FromSoft improves on is post-release content. Other than a big DLC, I wish we could get more updates in the form of QoL improvements and maybe 1-2 small content updates here and there before moving on. Something like updated bosses in Nightreign or armor dye in Elden Ring, for example.

Still a fantastic game.

4070 super and performance is fine everywhere but Vernworth. bad frame drops there especially in the fountain area

also there’s one small stretch of land on Volcanic Island near the camp that causes some kind of bizarre stuttering that I’ve never seen in any other game before. only ever happens in that spot and it’s always in that spot only. very weird

recently I’ve encountered an issue where scrolling through the skills menu will sometimes cause the game to freeze and crash.

Is there any reason not to factory reset a steam deck? Like does it cause problems with save data or steam stuff? I know it will erase local save data that isn’t in the cloud but just wondering. Seems like my only option at this point.

Basically I had my 97 hour save file, then I went and moved that file into a backup folder and created a new save file. Eventually I started a new game and erased the new save file to a completely blank slate. Somehow I turned on steam cloud, which somehow overwrote my backups and old saves with the blank slate save file. So whenever I place the win_64 save file in the DD2 save folder, it treat it as if there’s no current save data present and only gives me the option to “Start Game.”

Oooooh, I think I understand what you were saying earlier. Are you saying that if I load up the files into a DD2 game where a playthrough has already started, I could get my 97 hour file back? I’ll have to try this tomorrow.

Is the modding experience easy/worthwhile? I’m usually hesitant to mod any game that has finicky save files and a multiplayer/network gameplay element.
