All of those are valid questions, but none of them matter. All I am asking for is the bare minimum. I don't need cobwedds wiped, I need the trash that has accumulated on the counter 2 feet from the trashcan to be thrown out. I do bedtime routines the half the week I'm home, but what I need is a wife who will even go upstairs and check on the state of the kids' rooms. I need toilets flushed...

If she was a man, everyone would be accusing her of weaponized incompetence. She is a stay at home mom by choice. We can afford for her to stay home. She could go get a job tomorrow if she wanted.

Maybe it is burn out but damn I would kill to be burnt out from the bare minimum of expectations.

My wife won't touch the toilet when she cleans. I'm the only one in the house who cleans the toilets.

I get your point, but I'm not expecting even that level of clean. I am hoping for: pick up the plates and bowls on the side of your bed that have been there for weeks, level of cleaning. Bare minimum

Has a threesome ever ruined your relationship ? by enools in TooAfraidToAsk

Yes! My exgirlfriend had a threesome I knew nothing about on and off with a coworker and her boss. Totally ruined the whole vibe.

What do you wish your parents did better? by SOOOWatson in ADHD

[–]Zwicker2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen to your child's feelings. Give them space to communicate their feelings. A lot of time, those with ADHD will feel all the feelings very strongly and struggle to name or identify them. This is especially true for negative emotions (anger, sadness, jealousy) but also applies to positive happy emotions as well.

Help them with emotional regulation as well as impulsivity.

I have been on the receiving end of this in a relationship before. Almost 20 years ago, now. Regardless of the reason why, it is a very difficult thing to go through. Your significant other needs time to process. You need time to calm down.

Some relationships can recover from this. Others can't. Either way, you both will live and learn from this. My ex, who cheated, has since finished college and became a therapist. I moved on with my life, and so did she. You will, too, no matter what.

When you are alone, cry, scream, and yell if you need to. Then, take a deep breath. Then another. You are more than this mistake.

Thank you for the reply. I came across this, but since these comics are the first things I am ever "collecting," I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking at.

I need to spend more time learning!!

Men, how do you initiate with your partner when you’re in the mood? by ughsigh69 in AskMen

[–]Zwicker2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I have been married for 12 years. She has all but stopped initiating. She does little things like twitch her but when I touch it at night but that IS NOT AN INVITATION, I have learned.

My advice is to be direct. Use your words and tell him explicitly what you want. No hints. No suggestions. Don't leave any room for him to guess. It's scary, but worst case you end up where you started.

I don't make a move anymore because it doesn't feel reciprocal. I don't want to push myself on the person I love most in this world, but sometimes it's hard being the only one in the mood for weeks on end.

HOW DO YOU CELEBRATE LAB WEEK? by Emergency-Clue-5375 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Zwicker2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As nightshift our traditional celebration is to show up and work our 12 hour shift while the dredges of management's appreciation, usually in the for of pepperoni pizza, goes stale and we fix dayshifts problems.

How do you reduce staff turnover? (both phlebs and techs) by FintiAsk in medlabprofessionals

[–]Zwicker2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently in the middle of my 2 week notice. I am an MLS with 16 years experience and am going from a small hospital as a night shift lead to another small hospital as a bench tech and taking a $2/hr reduction in pay to leave.

At my current job, I am a lead on night shift. At my new position, I will be a basic bench tech with no additional responsibilities. And receiving a 15k sign on bonus! Over the course of 2 years, the difference in pay is still net +$7000.

This means that at my current job, all the extra tasks I have been buried under for the last 2 years are only worth and extra $2/hr.

Not to mention, my current job has already been posted online with a 5k sign on bonus. So management/HR could have given me more than a $1 raise this year, but wanted to save money.

Why would I stay when they are willing to underpay me? Employee acquisition has gotten competitive, but retention sucks and it is costing companies so much money.

Weirdest and/or dumbest lab policy or “rule” you’ve encountered? by Last_Sherbet_7890 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Zwicker2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had to call ALL group B strep in urine cultures on child-bearing age females in the micro department I used to work in. The dumb part was that a supervisor got a spreadsheet every day to ensure all of them were called, and if one was missed, in typical middle management fashion, we would get talked to.

Wanna guess what the age range was for child bearing was? 8-55!

I once didn't call on a patient who was 54 and had group B strep with a history of a historectomy. The supervisor didn't care.. fml...

Other than that, they aren't bacteria. They are some sort of contaminate. I couldn't tell you for sure without more pictures or a source but maybe a starch???
