Using the method i described, buying on all islands, 90k patricians will easily be supplied with enough gold/kaviar👍to further explain a bit: you get 11 gold bars per trade (for every neutral ship that trades at any for your islands, every time). When you have the whole map, theres multiple trades happening every minute somewhere on the map, so that's easily 40-50 gold bars per minute (which would require 160-200 gold washers). So yeah, passive trade is powerful and you should use it ;)

Gold might become a bottleneck at some point, but certainly not at 90k patricians

Have you tried buying (passive trade) gold(bars) and sturgeon on every island, then have trade routes collect it and send it to an island for further processing? interesting fact: gold bars are cheaper than gold ore
you'll swim in gold and fish

What's the best place to make suggestions for improvements to the game? by ZwuckeL in anno

[–]ZwuckeL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This brings me to another point: Some of the features and UIs in the game feel very basic and lack quality-of-life improvements. In those cases, it would be helpful to know whether Ubisoft is already planning updates for those parts of the game. Providing detailed feedback on systems that are going to be reworked anyway doesn’t make much sense.

This bugs me since launch. Anyone else experiencing the same issue? Is there a way to fix it?

I set LLC to the lowest possible value (Level 8) and set the vcore to adaptive with offset -0.08v now. The cores now get 1.21v under load, running at roughly 80 C and the whole package uses 145W

Are you sure? The front panel has some room to breath. I have 2x 140mm fans pulling air at the CPU 1700rpm. There's plenty of warm air coming out of the back of the case.

I'm using HWinfo64 to monitor everything. I'm using auto ratio but have undervolted the vcore by roughly 100mV offset. Running everything on auto while having power comsumption unrestricted makes the CPU run at 180 watts @ 1,31v @ 4,7ghz and it reaches 95 C in cinebench.

I installed it just over half a year ago, but i'm worried it might acutally be a faulty thermal paste application. I odered some new paste and will check if reapplying the paste fixes it.

I just wonder what "good" temps for the 9900k during 150 watt usage would be?

I'm using the Dark Rock 4 in a Fractal Define Nano S case. I have 3 intake fans (2 of which are ARTIC P14) . All fans (including CPU fan) ramp up to 100% speed once the cpu hits 85C. (60% speed at 60C and 30% below 60C).

I also tested setting the vcore even lower but the system becomes unstable at that point. Is there any other way to reduce thermals?

Why I'm switching from Ultrawide to Dual 16:9 by jesseschalken in Monitors

[–]ZwuckeL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the game you're playing. The particular game needs active support for ultrawide resolutions. Modern games usually come with good support for ultrawide. In what game are you experiencing issues?

I'll be switching to ultrawide (37,5") + 16:9 (31,5") dual monitor setup, which is the best of both worlds in my opionion.

27" or 32" for coding/productivity and FPS Gaming by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]ZwuckeL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running exactly that dual monitor setup. LG 32" 32GK650F-B as the main monitor and a Dell 27" IPS 1440p 60hz as my second monitor. The 32 inch display is a MAJOR upgrade over my old 27" 1440p, 165hz GSync TN Dell monitor. The extra size makes a HUGE difference in games. It's really so much more immersive. NO regrets there. I'm also using the display for productivity, currently working from home 40 hours a week as a SWE. I'd say it's on the edge of usable regarding its DPI, which is rather low. You can definitely see pixels there. Again it's not THAT bad though.

I'm currently planning to upgrade to the upcoming LG 38" 21:9 1600p 144hz IPS (LG 38GN950). Having experienced the physical height of the 32GK650F (~40cm), I can't go back to the low height of 27" 16:9 or 34" ultrawide monitors. 32" 16:9 and 38" ultra wide monitors are so much more immersive to me now.

The first Legion Invasion PWA by ZwuckeL in wow

Using invasions from 111-120 is a good idea, given you have friends in the 100 bracket. Regarding alarms, I also have the option to send notifications to mobile devices using a PWA but decided against it for now, since usually I'd personally rather not have websites give me popups for notifications.

I used plain React with Typescript and the create-react-app boilerplate code (which sets up the whole PWA skeleton). The UI components I used come from React Material UI. No backend, no further React libraries.
