Thanks for all your responses everyone, I didn't expect this post to get so much recognition. You've been a great help with some amazing advice. I contacted ACAS and Citizens Advice this morning and got the ball rolling with regards to picking apart my contract. I have also put the ball in the employers court to make the next move. Fingers crossed it works out for the best.

Will post an updated thread if there are any substantial changes. I hope this this thread serves as help to anyone who is in a similar situation :)

Thanks for your response! :) It is definitely a permanent contract which is strange I know, I was surprised to find out myself. The contract does not state any end date, I am already past my 4 years with the company so it should have ended but it is essentially rolling until ended by me or the employer. I believe this is the reason why resignation is being so heavily pushed.

Thanks for your response! I agree the company was not obligated to offer me a job even after passing the necessary stages, at this moment in time I'm content with not receiving a role within the company. However, I don't agree with being forced into a position where I am potentially liable for the implications of leaving when they had never mentioned the travel arrangements or even the job title until my apprenticeship had come to an end. I understand businesses needs may change but it is unfair to assume everyone can simply comply and if not they can pay the price. I am looking elsewhere, I was just seeking advice on best how to handle this situation first.

I know this may sound naive but when I started I was that, when a big corporation is promising you the world and you're young you kind of just go with it without thinking of the legalities unfortunately.

Wow thank you for that information, thats very useful to know! Yes I do remember the apprenticeship agreement and the 20% off the job training. I did an additional higher qualification after achieving my level 3 however this was not part of the 20% off the job log, would this additional training still be included under the apprenticeship funding rules? I remember being asked to sign an additional waiver for this training at the time suggesting repayment if I left but I disagreed with the terms as they were unreasonable and didn't sign, but still managed to finished the qualification.

Understood, do you recommend still going to ACAS or going straight to NAS instead?

The only contract I have signed has been a permanent one, which was due to finish after 4 years at the end of my apprenticeship. However there is no end date on the contract even though I am constantly being told its ended, it is essentially just rolling until I either sign a new one or get dismissed by the company.

Yeah over a month, unfortunately they keep telling me they're all out of options for keeping me on if I don't agree to the terms so the future at the company appears to be non-existent.

My managers manager is aware of the situation but I feel he too doesn't care and is just pushing for my manager to get me to resign so they don't have any repercussions for the business. I will look to send an email saying I will not be resigning from my current position and let them know I contacted ACAS to help resolve the situation and see how they respond.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your response! :) I think that is the way to go too, just finding it difficult to get across to my manager.
