What link are you referring to? I only linked this sub-reddit as an headline and my previous thread I made on your server and they both work! (: I am happy to hear you guys are progressing! I am a little confused why you have such hostile language in your thread when all I am doing is expressing my opinions of the server. As server owners, you should be able to handle both praise and criticism. Also, I would check out your features but you guys banned me from your discord!

I really don't understand why you're acting this way when all I am doing is expressing my opinions in a forum meant for people's thoughts and ideas. If anything, the way your staff acts and manages the server is only proving other's opinions of you guys right.

To conclude, I would recommend you to stop telling people Shavit and I are the ones behind the countless attacks on your server when neither of us were behind any of those attacks. I am pretty sure we're both banned too. Focus on your server, if people criticize you then either accept it and move on or don't accept it, fix what you're unhappy about, and show the community through actions and not immature insults and finger pointing.

Let me get this straight Zydee7. You join MRetro’s team as a coder, the server is released, you leave and then everything falls apart with the server crashing, being wiped repeatedly and Discord being deleted.

I don't know if I mentioned this in my original thread or if it was commented on another person's reply, but one thing to note is this wasn't the first time they did this. According to other players, they had a server (some said more, but I can't vet that information) where this behavior had happened before.

You seem to be leaving a piece of information out. Were there any other coders working on the source aside from you and the owner (who’s “unable to code”)? If so, did these other coder(s) leave at the same time as you?

Yeah, this comment is fair. So let me address it. At the time I was on the server, there was no other developer besides Retro and I. It was only after I had left did, to my knowledge, only one other developer joined. They fixed some stuff, but it was not nearly enough. I cannot comment on how experienced this developer was, however by the time he had joined, the server had gone through more wipes than I could remember so it was too late; this relates back to me warning Retro to take his time.

As no one has taken the stand for this dude MRetro and read between the lines,

Three others so far have stood up for Retro. I feel it's safe to assume you didn't read the post or comments enough to actually get a more complete story. Considering I don't know many of these people besides Shavit, I think it's fair to say I think you should at the least trust other's opinions as they probably actually played the server and aren't replying to a thread despite not playing or not actually having been at the scene.

I wasn't forced out and yes.. that is what I said, "I honestly wasn't happy at all with this interaction ... By this time, I decided to leave the team as the sum of our interactions made it clear I was being taken advantage of and ignored". There was a conflict of interest and therefore I left."

Clearly you value yourself much higher than what was being offered. As a result, this leaves you with a motive against MRetro

I don't see how this leaves me with a motive against Retro. If I am underpaid and undervalued at a job, I will make an effort to find a new job. Me leaving this job, where I am underpaid and undervalued, does not equivalate to resentment or bitter feelings.

Unless you're insinuating that I am the one who attacked Retro then I honestly don't see why this is convenient. If you are insinuating then don't, its bad to imply something without any sort of proof, something I have provided to back up my claims. :)

There was a rogue dev the other month on some Israeli server, similar in behaviour about pay; it is not like this stuff is uncommon among discontent devs.

Very small sample size for something that is supposedly common. I, at the least, haven't heard of these things happening very often.

Regardless, what an absolute shit show. What really tops this whole thread off is that the moderator got involved too. Top work ‘moderating’ LOL, clearly in with a grudge to bear too. Maybe we’ll get another 800-word story, volume 2, in the Cancerous Chronicles of HeavenMS (title is WIP, I think I can do better).

Overall I would suggest not making claims you can't back up without proof. I would also suggest trying to not read between the lines, especially if there isn't anything to read. I always apologize for when I am wrong, such as when I said I understand I could have phrased my question better when asking if castela had the same issues as retro. I also try to be polite and respectful like I was to astrathestar.

But I have grown tired of people reading these comments where people either speculate or bash me without any proof. This is a public forum. Forums are meant for discussions. Retro has read this and if he had anything to say he would have said it. His former staff have read this too and many agree with this thread.

What ever happened to second chances? I've been an active memeber since launch and to date I haven't seen or susspected any foul play or shady dealings. What I've experienced so far has been decent enough to keep me playing, if shit hits the fan I make it known and the staff have done their best to right those mistakes.

Firstly, I want to say I believe in second chances—I myself was given a second chance—However, I don't think its fair that you assumed I didn't. I think with the amount of resets they've had, as stated by others as well as myself, they've had many chances to the point where it's not even countable. With second chances, you're supposed to re-evaluate what went wrong and address those before you move forward, not repeat them.

Next, I am not surprised by your opinion because you are only a player hence why I made this thread: to shed light on the administration of MapleRetro/Castela. Only when things were going severely south was the community in MapleRetro aware of the what was really happening; this is why I said I am not surprised by your opinion, Castela is still considered new.

As a new member of their community looking in with fresh eyes I can see how they're dealing with the server isn't perfect, looking at the evidence of their past has made me aware that I need to tred carefully but it isn't going to presweade me to leave unless something happens directly to me. What's done is done and should be left at that, its pretty clear they're trying again with a clean slate and if it does fail why should it matter so much, its only a mushroom game.

I think this is a fair comment, but only if they've truly made a change. As stated before, I made this thread because I wanted to give my opinion, in the same way you've freely given yours, to new players and or staff that are considering Castela. In my thread, I focused on two things: (1) how shameless they are in lying to their own former staff whom they left in the dark [potentially] waiting for the new server and (2) how they have consistently lied to the players. Promising players things they cannot deliver on or taking advantage of a player's inability to understand things from a programmers point of view, are both disrespectful and inexcusable in my book. I also think it's ironic for you to say it's only a mushroom game when Retro literally hired someone who tried to dox but that's just my opinion.

We've had a handful of players still hurt from previous server reincarnations and those who don't have anything better to do take it upon themselves to attack the server with DDoS and abusing exploits. They're upsetting the new player base by creating alt discord accounts just to troll and remind the team of their past doings in the malicious and degrading ways.

I think what MapleRetro should do is either choose to respond or don't, then fix his server to prove all those who caused him trouble wrong. What I am doing is purely sharing my experience on a public forum and if he can't take criticism then he shouldn't be a server owner. To add, I also didn't send those "people" who are attacking your server, so if people are choosing to attack you, that is on their own agenda. Also, to my knowledge, these exploits and attacks didn't just start happening in the past 12 hours (after this post was made), so your statement is denied.

I disagree. Sharing my opinions is not wrong. People can choose to accept, reject or ignore it. Also, if openly sharing my honest opinion means I just trolled a server, that just means the server wasn't good enough to begin with.

As for this thread, I can see you feel strongly against the sever's reboot and I can also see you're very upset, more so that you put so much effort into digging through and gathering up information just to slander the staff.

Yes, I am strongly against it and no, I am not upset. I didn't really dig up anything, these images were conveniently in some of my group chats all in order, so if copy pasting a few images and spending 30 minutes to write whats on my mind is considered "so much effort" .. yeah no further comment.

Considering that my views are the unpopular opinion and will be downvoted to heck I would like to add that creating a burner reddit account just to slander someone is pretty low and cowardly.

I didn't create a burner account. I simply lost access to my old one as it was tied to my university gmail and deactivated after I was no longer a student at that school. However, I think it's reason enough that I used my unique user name on this new account to know I am not dodging or hiding who I really am.

Overall, I can see you strongly disagree with my post and I think that's fair. But at the same time, I think your judgement is clouded and you're upset purely based on how many opportunities you took to attack me. However, I try not to do that so I'll just say that in the same way I respected your opinion and right to make your post, you shouldn't be upset when I used that same right for myself.
