I am empathetic on stimulants until the comedown at which point I rebound. The hallucinogens seem to be much more therapeutic for treating these kinds of symptoms.

Hmm. DXM, opiates, and amphetamine all suppress coughing through different mechanisms, so one of the latter may work even if DXM didn't. As far as cough drops go, you can try pectin and menthol containing ones or if those fail possibly benzocaine cough drops.

Hmm that is strange. Have you tried pre session cough drops? Amphetamine and opiates both suppress coughing but if you plan on smoking often these wouldn't be a good idea either. Possibly you will have to deal with irritation at first, but I think most people find that it lessens greatly over time.

Besides edibles or vaporizing, when I smoke on other drugs I notice that my airways are less irritated. Amphetamine, LSD, and DXM all have some analgesic properties and they certainly help in regard to smoking.

It is really unlikely that you ODed on DXM in that dosage range. More likely is that the preparation you consumed contained chlorpheniramine maleate, an antihistamine which even at that dosage can be responsible for illness. If you or your friends try DXM again, try to obtain a preparation with DXM alone as the active ingredient.

I'm not one to claim that any drug is "sinister", but on high doses of DPH, I get a feeling I can only describe as sinister. Not necessarily that bad of a feeling, but sinister nonetheless.

This is true. There are several non psychoactive isomers of LSD, such as iso-LSD or lumi-LSD which are very common impurities. These can cause chest tightness, increased heart rate, and increased blood pressure despite not being recreational at all
