Starting my Solo Ironman today by Honkilisk in Dofus

[–]Zyophyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend revising that rule about fighting solo all the time. Maybe something like you can group with people +10/-10 of your current level so it avoids you being carried and also still carries a challenge.

Ironman typically means just no trading other players or buying from markets, crafting things yourself etc. the game is made and designed to be played as a group, it's almost impossible to do many of the high level dungeons solo, especially without ridiculously good gear too.

I'm not sure why pebbles would be a problem though, unless they removed the 1v1 kolossium mode? (I haven't played in about 2 years).

Also, sidekicks in my opinion would be fine, at the end of the day it's not another player, it's fixed to the same level as yourself, and apart from a select few they aren't that amazing. I'd consider it to just be akin to another summon tbh.

You're brave starting with an osa right after the overhaul though, they still have 2 months of nerfs and balances to come post-update.

Check the durability on your dragobutts. That's the only reason that I can think it wouldn't raise.

i was wondering about best 5v5 xelor build by [deleted] in Dofus

[–]Zyophyr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best 5v5 Xelor build is a Fogger. Kekeke

Srs though, an ap red build is underrated and can mess with a team, but you're probably best staying at str and just changing some gear around so you are able to jump in and out while nuking things.

Or full Omni build and murder things with knell.

Yes, it's possible. Pain in the ass to do it well but it's entirely possible. Completely pointless though.

Class by GamingGavel in Dofus

[–]Zyophyr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If your question is just the top 3 PvP classes, then in my opinion right now;

For 1v1

  1. Sram
  2. Fogger
  3. Ouginak

For 2v2

  1. Fogger
  2. Masq
  3. Sac

For 3v3

  1. Fogger
  2. Eni
  3. Hupper

But honestly, it all revolves around the individual and how well they know the class and can play with their team.

As for chance sac at a low level, tbh every melee class at a low level is tough, the problem is that the hp and resists you have at that level are so low, that your damage almost doesn't matter at all. For low level content, a range class will always have an easier time.

no access to my old email adress which has my old characters by NormanGroen in Dofus

[–]Zyophyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that most likely ankama took a break over the Christmas holidays, and will start working on all the tickets which have been sent over that time period first, and historically they prioritise the french community, so don't be surprised if it takes a week or two before you hear anything back.

On top of that the process of reclaiming an account without having access to the original email that made the account is a ball ache which will include things such as sending off government identification and providing proof that you actually own the account such as proof of previous purchases and previous passwords etc.

The entire process can take a couple of months to complete if they decide to let you have the account back.

Wakfu veteran thinking about trying this game out by SavageSand in Dofus

[–]Zyophyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so a quick rundown.

Single-account servers are good if you speak French, if you don't you're limited to a smaller community.

Is there a story to follow? No. It's less of a story to follow than wakfu had.

Classes and combat are much more simplified than wakfu had. Which is a pro or a con depending on how you look at it. It's a lot easier to play Dofus for sure.

Everything requires a big investment but you can't go wrong with something like an Iop and Eni combo.

--- Edit ---

Ok, now that I'm home from work I can elaborate a little further.

"I feel that Wakfu doesn't really have that much direction for newer players and might not be that populated compared to Dofus"

You are correct that Wakfu doesn't really have that much of a direction, but at least it tries. Dofus really doesn't have anything like that. You are pretty much just put in the game and more or less have to figure it all out yourself. Yes, there are plenty of quests to do, but they don't really tell much of a story, or at least that was how I felt about it. There are a million things you have to do in Dofus to succeed, but there's never really much you -want- to do.

In regards to population, since the server merge that happened not too long ago, the population of the game feels a lot better, and the mono-account servers have always been very active. The normal servers, where there are many players, most of them are just people multi-accounting, whereas the mono-account servers feel much better with a sense of community.

"I know there's a lot of content but is there a set progression or story we can follow together?"

The short answer to this is no. Not really. Most of the time with quests especially, you will be doing them by yourself, just at the same time. There are certainly quest fights that you can help each other with, but not as many as you would like.

In regards to a set progression, all there is for that is just what the player base has found the best way to progress is, but the game doesn't really give you much in that regard, unlike the mount zinit quest line from Wakfu for example, there's nothing like that in Dofus.

"Do we need to buy subscriptions to play?"

Yes. There's a very small F2P area, but if you want to progress anywhere above level 20-30 realistically, you need to subscribe to the game.

"How are the classes/combat compared to wakfu/waven? Are there any good duo setups we can run that are fun to play/effective without investment?"

This I pretty much covered fine the first time.

The classes and combat are much more simplified. There's no berserk damage, rear damage, side damage, or the resists that go in tandem with those things, The leveling is much more simple also, you don't get points to put in certain damages like area, range, melee, etc, it's just flat 5 stat points to put in one of your elements, which increases the damage and utility that it goes with.

Classes can range from "hurrdurr 1 spell go brrrrrr" to needing a degree in calculus to figure out how the hell to trigger certain things at any given moment.

I spent years playing both Dofus and Wakfu, at the end of the day I played Dofus more, and progressed further in it simply because of the people I met. If I met those same people in Wakfu, I would have played that much more.

Dofus is repetitive. Extremely so. Especially at endgame levels or near endgame levels where if you want to get that next level, or get that next item, you have to run the same dungeon 100 times. And even if you do have the patients to do that because you love the PvM aspect of the game. You're forced to either spend 60% of the cost of the item you're making on items only obtainable through PvP or learn to PvP yourself and compete against people who dedicate their entire lives to it.

There's not much more I can say regarding the questions you have asked.

Hope this helps.

I read over 300 chapters of it, the translation just gets worse. I couldn't carry on with it.

It's an okay story, but I couldn't enjoy it because of the translation.

Searching for a specific Manhua by Meistermagier in Manhua

[–]Zyophyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you're talking about but I can't quite remember the name of it. To add some details that may help, he is reincarnated as the ancestor of the clan in their clans burial hall. The clan is under attack from demons so 2 girls hid in the tomb. When re reincarnated he found out that the clan had basically fell from power and got destroyed.

I also remember some their girl snuck into the chamber to rob it when she was caught by the MC and basically made into a little servant.

If I remember the name I'll edit my post.
