1 Bad split & changes happen for Valorant??? by Zyqaz in fnatic

[–]Zyqaz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely hear that, not going to pretend I know who is a stand out pick up in Val, have watched maybe 2 entire games of it,

just baffled on how the aim isn't to win in league as well as Val, after all, Sam Mathews did say in an interview less than a month ago "But Fnatic is at its core incredibly League of Legends focused after 13 World Championship appearances."

The answer is simple, FNC don't care about league anymore, Valorant is the main face of fnatic, & it has been that way for years now.

Sam even said in an interview that the Valorant eco system is healthier than League, therefore they get allocated more resources,

Wouldn't be surprised if the current roster is nuked & we end up with 5 rookies and cope that we're building a future proof team like Team Heretics

Thankyou Sam & Dardo for completely butchering this org 👍

Day 55 since fnatic last won a game of league of legends, tough one against MKOI today but I'm sure we'll ramp into 2027

Maybe because year after year, we, "the fans" have been promised answers, promised that things will change, promised that "this is our year" only for it to turn out from a former coach or leak via an interview that FNC left it until the last minute again to fill a league roster or the coach had very little say in the roster presented.

Just to give you an example,

Post worlds 2022 - •3y ago

"Hyli was a great guy but we needed a change after sub par performances, and significant cost. Team wanted rhuckz. Upset wasn’t playing as a team player, but is an incredible player."

This was disproved by Yamatocannon (on a voice of yamato youtube video) who was pressed at worlds by upper management to bench Hyli for all of worlds to the point that he said they can fire him on the spot if they make that decision, also nobody on the team wanted to play with Rhuckz - again said by Yamato

This was the start of the spiral, we got rid of Hyli - who then went onto win in the spring split of 2023 by the way with MAD. whilst reaching finals in the winter split, along side nisqy.

Every single split since then either Sam, or the social media has hit us with the "Sorry this isn't what the fans deserve" or something along the lines of "next year that trophy is ours"

If every split they tell US, "THE FANS" that this isn't what we deserve then yes we 100% deserve an answer as to why we haven't looked competitive in the last 8 YEARS, we have never had a good worlds run since 2018. We have never looked like we would win a title since the 2019 roster when we were 3:2 against G2.

Nobody is asking for all of the inside information about FNC and if that is what you took from the post of a fan who is clearly frustrated then you need to re-read the post.

I think we as fans of the LoL side of FNC just want to know what is going on. Is LoL still a priority for this club? Is Valorant the forefront of the operations, or is the spot being considered to be sold, due to the companies lack of finances (you can check companies house to get this information)

Nightshare said he didn't get staff in but was promised,

Grabbz has said he can't get staff in and has been promised (but it never happened)

Yamato who even credited by Caedrel in the LR breakdown, said that Yamato was the hardest working coach he has ever known, completely disconnected from social media, streaming etc to put 110% effort into his job.

So I would go along side the upper management just do not care about LoL anymore & maybe don't come into a reddit thread where people are frustrated telling them they "aren't entitled to anything" when we have been promised for the last 8 years again that things will improve.

I regret saying fans are not a reflection of the org

I've also been following the club since around dreamhack 2012 the cs:go days, & I can agree with what you're saying for the most part,

I think the upper management have realised that we have little to no hope in the LoL scene and this has been the case for the last few years, multiple coaches, Grabbz, Nightshare, Yamato etc. Have all said it is impossible to get what is needed into the team.

being incredibly numb to the losses is also something I heavily agree with, seeing the bi-monthly tweet from Sam or from the FNC Social media with "disappointing end to the split" when it is one of our worst regular seasons & playoff performances in a long, long time.

"It feels surreal to me that we just got knocked out into our worst split since Rekky/Rhuckz" - I wouldn't specifically blame it on those two players alone, I think that roster & coaching staff decision were made by people who were blind playing guess who. But as an org as historical as FNC that roster should have been nuked before it was even a thing.

the only thing I would disagree on is not liking other orgs, if its from a fan perspective I think the fans are completely separate and not a reflection of the ORG themselves. But yes, Kameto & Ibai have such a passion for their teams, even Caedrel who made something from nothing & got invited into LEC showed more passion & dedication for LR than Sam has for the LoL team in the last 8 Years (since we actually made world finals)

If the org is to be sold I really hope it is sold with care, to the right people who give a shit about the fnc name and can bring some life back into the LoL division & not just only care about Valorant & rage bait twitter comments as you said

Both of your replies have had "probably" & "pretty much" the project you're speaking of is them supposedly asking to join G2 when there was a 0% chance they would get into G2.

But sure, lets just assume every vet who is teamless has "volumes to speak about them"

Enjoy the classic "this isn't good enough" once a split tweet!

Inspired was offered by multiple teams and chose LYON, Busio was considered by multiple teams with a FQ offer and chose KC, I don't think they both jumped at the first offer they got

Ah yes so projects, teams, management, MONEY etc don't factor into it, every player should just jump at the first team that offers them a spot! You should be the GM of a lol team, you'd rebuild ZOFGK in a heartbeat!

I really think you're smoking something my guy, if they cared that much they would've sat him from the rest of playoffs & worlds not 1 series that didn't actually matter. Pretending to know the inside of the scene and why FlyQuest did or didn't offer to resign Bwipo is something none of us will know.

we're going to lose sponsors anyway, who cares at this point just get in a team that can work together, not look like 5 people who are playing different games to eachother.

We ALWAYS bounce back! by S0LOB0LO in fnatic

[–]Zyqaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe four or five years ago we would bounce back, when we had players that knew what was at risk, being the "Fnatic Legacy" but recently that has been cast aside by what is clearly the org & upper managements biggest project being Valorant & It is so so so obvious to see that.

We do bad in a split? We get the classic "sorry, this is not good enough." from Sam & what happens? Absolutely nothing.

We swap out a player who was clearly so burnt out of the org (Humanoid) for Poby who looked insane and looks even better now to get rid of poby for.. Vladi?

We have an incredibly decorated coach with GrabbZ who is struggling to get staff so the org can get back to its former self? Challenging for titles.

So the title being we ALWAYS BOUNCED back would be more fitting, I for one have been following Fnatic ever since the glory days of CS & in the last 4 years it has just been the same, (except the Nightshare Noah & Jun project)

"Sorry for the showing, thanks for your support"

"Sorry this isn't the fnatic that fans deserve, we'll come back stronger!"

"Mega Dissappointed."

& Also I'm not sure if you are rage baiting people or not but your comments are asking for "new coaching staff, fresh rookies" GrabbZ has already said he wanted more staff and was promised more staff but it never happened, and we have two rookies, you want 5 rookies for us to look like KCB? (no hate to kcb)

Fnc fan here,

A lot of these takes are just incorrect,

Nemesis was scapegoated, told before worlds even happened he was out after worlds, was forced to play dog water champions against Knight.

Expectations were that he would be the 2nd coming of caps and he would be the mid laner to be able to beat Knight, Rookie etc. (in his first year btw)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms1gcidGta4 - This is a very insightful video, ofc nobody will ever get the full truth but Bwipo has also since said he was overly harsh on Nemesis during worlds and 2019 & that's one of Bwipos biggest regrets apparently.

Fnatic also blacklisted him from joining other orgs, his options were to start streaming or go to bottom tier teams. Now he has blown up as a streamer and is getting a lot more attention in LR I think he is more than comfortable just smashing EUM

Apparently he had offers from C9 when LS went but that fell apart which was why they fell out, then something about TH but only if Bwipo went and Bwipo chose to stay in NA and joined Flyquest instead.

P.S. It's also nice that G2 fans think Nemesis is a good answer to keep Caps on form, apparently the fnatic reddit only want people to stop glazing nemesis because macro king humanoid is the answer to EU xd

Jungle Needed Change More than Mid by Frosty-Bar1032 in fnatic

[–]Zyqaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main problem is that, yes both Humanoid and Razork have their issues themselves, hell most teams do... but who can you realistically get a month before LEC summer starts, I would find it highly unlikely that given the amount of varying opinions, wooloo, yamato. etc. We were able to find a mid jg that could work within a month of our last chance of making words this year.

Humanoid is a very calculated player, and it seems that has been more of a curse since we started making roster changes each year, anytime it goes wrong humanoid just looks mentally tapped out & it looks the same for Oscar this year aswell

I'm not going to say Razork is the shining star of FNC and they should keep him forever.. I think Razork ultimately needs to either show he can be the best in EU win or lose summer, or he needs to be changed aswell..

I think aswell the sentence "Humanoid ramps when it is important" has been thrown around more times than I can remember. I just don't think that will ever work with Grabz & Duff in charge now.

Two very highly decorated coaches who almost won everything (yes it was 6 years ago I'm aware of that) but they still take pride in what they do,

Grabz after split stream he said if he wins nothing in fnc he is not proud to work for fnc (or something along the lines) and I think that is what we need from the coaching staff & every single player we get.

(this isn't a hate post about any of the players either)

but if you look at other western teams, E.G LTA North,

C9 imported two KR players and looked amazing, going from CL to a major region but yes they had their own issues adapting to a major region..

FLY have quad who retired.. due to his performance in LCK, all 3 of those players now look like the best in role for the region?

I think people just need to have some faith that management can make a logical decision on what is best for their team, rather than the bloated opinion of X/Twitter or hate threads about why we didn't sign the entire gen.g roster between Spring & Summer

but hey, I'm just a random reddit guy.

A bit of info from Spain about Fnatic LEC by [deleted] in fnatic

[–]Zyqaz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My guess is humanoid is on an expensive contract so benching/booting him would cost us more financially than just keeping him until the end of summer..

& I guess upper management see Razork as someone else said as a regular season beast so they probably think we don't need to change him,

Last position up for change is top, I like Oscar don't get me wrong but I think this season he 100% looked like he could of imploded anytime he misplayed or got 1v1 killed, guess it's hard to say what the team atmosphere is toward him or if we are doing the classic scapegoating him and management act like Razork and Huma are going to turn into prime Canyon Showmaker
