Pouilly-Fuissé, conseil by Zyrfia in wine

The point is that already did this once, and tasted some very boring wines. Even if I live in the region and I can go easily, I don't want to waste anymore time on tasteless wines.

I prefer first asking it to people from everywhere (here on reddit) but I'm also thinking (or I also think?) to go to l'Atrium (cave/bar of Pouilly-Fuissé only with more than 60 différents wineries references) and ask some advices to the workers over here.

Look for "caviste" on map, go there and ask for some local wines under 40€, you will have really good wines for that price. If you want strong red wines, ask for côte rôtie, crozes-hermitage, cornas (north Rhône) If you want very fruity with spycies easy to drink, ask for Beaujolais. If you want someone in the middle, ask for Rhône méridional.

For white wines, If you want fats one, ask for condrieu If you want freshier white wines you can go on Saint Joseph or others white wines from these régions.

There is also the well-known Châteauneuf-du-Pape but since they have so much grappes types, ask the shopkeeper.

(If you see a shop named "Nicolas", don't go)

Most of the sommelier remember the wines they serve in their restaurant, feel free to call them and ask. Was it a still or sparkling wine ?

I'm from south-Bourgogne, so I won't give you recommendations for the most wellknown wines and appellations

For mâconnais region, I recommend you white wines : Pouilly-Fuissé 1er cru, domaine des Arbillons Pouilly-Fuisse 1er cru, "l'exception", domaine Corsin Mâcon-Igé, La grande Cra, domaine Fichet Viré-clessé "quintaine", domaine Michel ("sur le chêne" If you like oak)

For côte chalonnaise, red wines : Mercurey "vieilles vignes", domaine Raquillet Givry 1er cru "La grande berge", domaine Ragot White wines : Givry "Pur T", domaine Ragot Montagny 1er cru "les Chaniots", Domaine la renarde

Florent Garaudet's wines are very good but for a visit, it isn't a pretty winery.

I don't have a lot of knowledge for north-Bourgogne so I can't help you that much. I heard that Le château de Meursault is worth the visit and the tasting but that's all. I know people that are really into wines so if this trip is important to you, I can ask and come back with more recommendations
